Can there be a update so that sub out follows the volume of the mains when using coax or anything other than line out? Tired of one volume

I thought it did. If you control the volume from the Ultra.
I don't want to do that. It's going to a outboard DAC then pre amp. Just wanting something convenient on the remote or something. I hate going through 4-5 menus then going back

It's technically impossible the WiiM Ultra could know about however you control the volume with any third party device.

If you want to use a sub, you must use the Ultra's volume control. Period. No way around it.

Ok, agree but why isn't there a sub volume on the remote or a quick button on the app?

This is just my personal opinion and not a personal offence in any way: Trying to adjust the sub and mains volume manually, re-matching it every time you intend to change the volume, is such an incredibly bad idea. It's not only the mother of inconvenience, it also makes high fidelity impossible since it totally goes against the aim of smoothly blending mains and sub.

Technically, it might be doable, though. But I will vote against it.

Yes yes all that. For streaming 2 channel I have the mains attached to the Rel subs. For watching TV I have a HSU sub attached to the sub out so it can be processed
