Subwoofer output from wiim ultra or denon 4300

I have a denon 4300 receiver & am using it in a 2.1 setup. I have the wiim connected using RCA cables from the WiiM Ultra's Line-Out to an analog input (e.g., CD, Aux, Media) on my denon AVR. My question is about my subwoofer which is a svs sb3000. Should the sub be connected to the wiim sub output or the denon sub output?
Thanks

It should be connected to the device you use to control your overall system volume. If you use the Denon to control the overall volume, connect the sub to that and set the ultra to 100% fixed output volume. If you fix the Denon's volume and use the ultra to control overall volume, connect the sub to that.

Thanks for the reply. I am finding the subwoofer connected to the denon doesn't output much volume compared to connecting to the wiim with music streaming. I am just wondering if anyone else has this same issue?

Yes, I noticed the output through the Wiim ultra was noticeably louder than what I was doing previously.

I am running that subwoofer too and I love how the Wiim ultra gave me significant overhead. I have the SVS app set at -10 volume and find that I have plenty to adjust with through the Wiim app.

Good to know that it's not just me noticing this. I can't play my svs at -10 though the sub is way too loud. I am test with my svs setting around -30. I must have something wrong with my setup.

The sub-out voltage on the Ultra is 2V, but I think the Denon is probably around 1V. So the sound from the sub connected to the Ultra will be louder.

Concerning the difference in our subs, I blew up the amp once got it replaced and it didn't perform as well as before. They sent me another amp and then finally we replaced the woofer. This means the entire subwoofer box has been rebuilt but I swear it still doesn't do what it first did. It's still a very valuable contributor. It's just not such a monster like it was before. That could account for the volume differences we are experiencing.

I purchased the ultra over the other wiim products due to the sub out connection. I may have to reconsider my purchase as connection my sub to the ultra is way too much bass for me. I am considering returnimg within my 30 day window.

Why don’t you turn the bass level down then, it’s as easy as that.🤔

If you are referring to the level in my svs app then I have it all the way turned to -42. When used with my denon receiver I have it set at -10. At 1st I liked how much more bass was coming out of the ultra but the more I listen I am finding it may be too much.

I agree! I think you have the exact right equipment. It's just the subwoofer is very very powerful!
Try something like the -41 Volume setting that you mentioned previously through the SVS app and open up the crossover to the highest setting on the SVS app to let the wiim app control it? Choose any other settings you would like to be as base settings for the wiim ultra and then simply shut it down until such time. You want to change those base settings. After that, always use the controls through the wiim app and know that you would have power available should you ever run into some very anemic music that needs extra extra extra bass!
Again, I think those those two items we're talking about are a great pairing and I would run with it.

Do you by any chance have your Ultra volume fixed at 100%, as this would explain why you have too much bass. 🤔

I would use digital out from the wiim to digital in on the denon, optical or preferably coax. Hook the sub up to the denon. Run audyssey and let it set the crossover and levels. Adjust sub level if desired using sub volume or denon sub level adjust.

Using analog in you are doing double adc-dac conversion if you are using audyssey, which I recommend. Also recommend using audyssey dynamic eq.

I want to use the wiim dac. I was told to use the wiim dac connect like this: I have the wiim connected using RCA cables from the WiiM Ultra's Line-Out to an analog input (e.g., CD, Aux, Media) on my denon AVR. When connecting my sub to the denon I am finding the extreme opposite of connecting to the wiim. (very little sub output) I may need to look at my denon setup to see why this is. Thanks for the reply.
