Too much bass Wiim sub

Are you using the WiiM Pro Plus to control the Volume of your system?
Are you using the analogue RCA output of the Pro Plus to connect it to a power amplifier? What is the output voltage setting on the Pro Plus?
Several controls at your disposal:
Low pass frequency cutoff - is yours set too high? Change it down from 80Hz to 70, 60 and see if you hear a difference.
Sub gain - another parameter to use.
EQ of your main system - Set a high pass filter. Change those parameters and check.
What do you mean too much bass? If it's too loud reduce it.
If you find it boomy you'll need to look at room positioning , measuring and peq correction. You'll want to use a umik mic not a phone mic
You need to get them time aligned with the speakers as well.
Then you have to adjust subwoofer roll off this depends on your speakers and room. Typically good starting position is 80hz for speakers and 80hz but if your mains can go lower I'd recommend 60hz for both

The volume on the Wiim Pro Plus is permanently set to 100%. The amplifier is connected to the Wiim Pro Plus via RCA.
2Vrms drop.

That's what I thought and it cannot work this way. The volume of the WiiM Sub Pro is controlled by the volume setting on the WiiM Pro Plus it is paired to. If you tell the Pro Plus to always play at full blast (100 %), that's exactly what the subwoofer will do as well.
Your amplifier has no means of controlling the subwoofer's volume, it doesn't even know about its existence. You must use the volume control of the WiiM Pro Plus if you pair a WiiM Sub Pro wirelessly. There's no way around it. You must not change the volume setting of your amplifier once the WiiM Sub Pro is set up with a matching level.
You need to use a variable output on your pre amp. You can't use 100% fixed level.
Ideally have a pre amp with subwoofer pre out, although there work arounds if using left & right out...however what that means your speakers aren't high passed and you don't have a seperate "channel" of the subwoofer

What are you talking about preamps? He is using the WiiM sub wirelessly connected to a Pro Plus.
When the WiiM Sub Pro is wirelessly integrated with another WiiM device, high pass filtering is (probably) applied. I could verify this with a WiiM Sound.

The WiiM Pro Plus must be used as the pre-amp. That's what I wrote but you didn't care to read.

Easy to test if high passing is done on speakers, set high pass as high as possible if you notice bass is missing from L/R then it's being high passed.

Yes but you were not talking about the Pro Plus as in the next sentence you mention a preamp with subwoofer pre out confusing the situation.
That's why I told you that I did it with the WiiM Sound.
