Ultra keeps switching to HDMI input.

Wiim are currently working on this.
From wiim
Currently, HDMI auto-sense is enabled by default on the WiiM Ultra, and there is no option to disable it at this time. However, we plan to add a toggle switch for HDMI auto-sense in a future update.
I really don't think this has to do with auto sensing alone but is somehow caused by the WiiM forcing the TV to output on ARC.

The function of the "Automatically output audio to WiiM when TV is on" setting has been lost.

Yes I agree with you, but I think this may be tv brand/model specific. I'm unsure about this however but there doesn't seem to be a lot of users complaining about this issue.

Or maybe users have given up trying to understand how this works

Or doesn't. 🤭 I have been beta testing seperate rc and eq so I thought I had missed it being fixed. It's never been right for me which is why I opted to just use the optical cable. 😁 I got a bit tired of wrestling with remotes etc. I do like the fact that there always seems to be some kind of workaround with the Ultra. 👍

With "Automatically output audio to WiiM when TV is on" disabled, I select TV (HDMI) as input and my TV (Sony) correctly changes output to external speakers (ARC) but when I then select another input (e.g. streaming) the TV don't change back to internal speakers as it should.

This used to work!

Note that when "Automatically output audio to WiiM when TV is on" is enabled some users have asked for this behaviour and I think it was then wrongly implemented for both cases?
Same here. VERY annoying. I communicated to WiiM it should be considered a bug that any time a source other than HDMI is playing and then paused, it will shift to HDMI automatically. So if a piece is playing on Tidal and I pause it, it switches to HDMI and I have to go back into Tidal and start over in my selection of music. The software team needs a new leader! Support said they would be re-optimizing the auto-sensing option that disappeared and now it appears that it is always on regardless of the "Automatically output audio to WiiM when TV is on". I don't know what they're thinking after trying to understand the random changes. I for one do not want my inputs changing on their own just because I pause my current input.

If I manually change my TV (Sony) to external speakers (ARC) then the Ultra also wakes up from standby and switch to TV input, even though I have both optical auto sensing and "Automatically output audio to WiiM when TV is on" disabled. That is a clear bug!

I guess the issue some people have is that the ARC is always enabled on the TV, even when playing via internal speakers.

As said before: When @WiiM Team fix one issue on HDMI they introduce several other new issues. I don't understand why it is so difficult to get it right. The beta test I did at the start of this year worked correctly in all functions but was never released. After that only half functioning implementations has been provided.

Same here. Very messed up firmware and software management. This is a release management issue and basic understanding of product management.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes i have it switched off..
All are off actually.
Ive powered down the ultra and restarted my wifi router and phone and tv.
It worked for a few hours ( wasnt switching to hdmi) but is now constantly switching to hdmi again.
Could it be CEC on the tv causing it ?
Just confirmed CEC off on the tv doesn't resolve the issue.
