Currently Ultra rca out to beolab powered speakers. Sounds great.
If I add a sub direct to ultra, then do room adjustment will ultra adjust rca output to send less bass to the speakers via rca cables?

Sub recommendations would be welcomed.
Thank you.

The crossover in the Ultra acts as a high pass filter for the RCA output if that is what you are asking.

As for recommendations, I have it hooked up to an SVS 3000 micro sub and it sounds great... For reference my setup uses passive speakers... an Ultra connected to the 3000 and 2 FOSI ZA3's in mono mode driving two Klipsch RP600M II's.

It might be! Not sure what you mean 🤔 🙄

Am I right that sub then allows ultra to send less bass to the powered speakers, eg it sorts out the mix so can focus on mids and highs?
At moment beolabs are having to do all the work.

Yes. Frequencies below the crossover will be sent to the subwoofer and frequencies above the crossover will be sent to the main speakers.

The app has many option for you to tailor your sub. There’s toggle if you want full range sub or both sub and main to produce bass. It’s all about what’s sound good to you, everyone is different.

Maybe smart presets will eventually make it less annoying.
Perhaps, but I think I'm going to split the optical output from my PC so I can get PC sound to my HPA before it hits the WiiM - this will avoid any EQ or crossover settings that might impact my headphones which I really just use for gaming. I can always run a USB or coax out back to the HPA if I want to get something from the Wiim...
