USB SSD not detected?

Yesterday I checked a USB 1 TB HDD would work with the Wiim Ultra. All OK. Read the files and gave me an option for USB in the inputs.

So I ordered a SSD, thinking that it would be need less power to operate and be more reliable.

It's formatted to NTFS but the Ultra just can't seem to see it?

It's got about 35GB of music on it. Does it take some time to index?

Connected a 250GB USB SSD and it's not detected.

It can detect a 250GB USB HDD though but doesn't scan the full library.

There seems to be loads of problems with USB drives and the Ultra.

Are Wiim aware or should I raise a ticket?

Could be that the HDD is drawing more power than the Ultra can supply.

Edit: it’s always a good idea to submit a ticket when you have an issue :)

But it seems that it can power the HDD but not the Solid State Drive, which needs a lot less power.

Have the hard drives their own power supply or only usb?
According to hdd,s..
I always use a dockingstation for it.
Can detect ssd,3,5 hdd...i can switch easily between the internal hdd,s.

For instance..
A have another one but i always use a dockingstation.
Have multiple stations.
1 at the pc for instance...you can easily switch between hdd,s where needed.
Supports usb 3.0.

I'm trying to keep the system as uncluttered as possible.

The HDD that is working doesn't have a separate power supply, that's why it so puzzling it works and the SSD doesn't?

Another usb cable? Another usb input..
Did you try?
Searching for topics according to you're issue.
I'm sure it can be solved.

Wiim have done a lot of updates over the last few weeks re usb connection.
Make sure you have the latest Wiim home update as it doesn’t necessarily update automatically.
The SSD should be easy to power. If its reading the files I would expect the light to flash as it scans.

I am using a Samsung t7 2 tb ssd which now seems to work after multiple updates.
It may be worth deleting the app and reloading it as well.

Well more strange behaviour.

I got an old 3.5" hard drive enclosure with a psu and dropped a drive in it.

It worked fine with my laptop but cannot be detected by the Wiim.

Regarding the SSD, I tried reboots, different cables etc. No joy at all.

Have you tried deleting the Wiim home app and reinstalling?
