Has anyone that has a Sonos ones, fives etc system streamed from a Wiim pro or plus by adding a Sonos port then adding the Wiim or external dac to the Port ?

I have a WiiM ultra connected to a 5 via line in the 5 it’s connected to is part of a stereo pair and sub
I have grouped the 5s with my move pair using sono+ as a volume controller as well if that makes sense
I don’t use the Sonos app at all just the WiiM home app and sono+ widget app I don’t use an external dac though

I added a WiiM Mini via optical out to the “TV” input on my Sonos Ray (I use it for music only in that room). Works great. Another option is a Mini connected to a Port via analog?

If you don't already have a Port you might want to wait until WiiM's DLNA Cast feature eventually appears. In theory it ought to be able to stream to the desired Sonos unit directly. That would avoid all the hassle of converting to analog, sending the signal via Sonos Line-In, and converting back to digital.

DLNA can be a bit finicky in general but in the past I've used DLNA successfully to cast to Sonos players from apps like JPLAY and BubbleUPnP.
