Way the "back-button" in the app behaves

a idea for the future ... it would be awesome to change (or have an option) the way the"back"- Button in the app works. When playing a song and pressing the back button it will jump a whole song backwards instead of starting the actual song from the beginning. All the other apps and hifi devices will jump to the beginning of the played song. Here I have to press one time "back" and one time "next". It would be less a problem if crapping the timeline and scroll to the beginning of the song would be less laggy - on DSD and 192kHz Flac files it takes a few seconds react

As I said before, if implement that, thay would also need to add the ability to skip tracks by swiping left or right on the screen.

So it was promised as a crucial update for January and still no sign of it. Comme d'habitude 🙄
@WiiM Team promise many functions and updates that never happens. I guess they charge priority or just forget about them.

For this one I am however glad that they forgot it, as the current behaviour is the most logical and easiest to use. Both from the WiiM Home App and the Remote.

They wouldn't "need" to but it would be a nice option. I tend to avoid swiping actions as it is so easy to trigger them accidentally.
This is necessary if the WHA is to mimic many other streaming apps. Pressing the back button within 3 seconds is a Herculean task for me...

Also strangely enough, I have never wanted to go back to the beginning of a track. I turn on 1 track repeat when I want to listen to just 1 track repeatedly 🙂

It is possibly more useful for radio programs. One touch of the back icon to take you to the start of a program. Practically to skip to previous track you would just tap once to return to the start of a track and again to skip back. Not really a Herculean task 🙂

And I don't listen to the radio! 😂
As I said before, please move the progress bar to where you want it to go! 🤣

(Sorry, I'm not serious 😄)

Indeed - this is what I do to go back to the beginning of a track.
tbh, it's really not that much more effort than pressing a button - in the app on a tablet.
I can imagine (and only imagine, as my google tv app doesn't work yet) that it'd be easier / nicer for the wiim tv app to behave like other music services.
Of course, having the option for how back behaves to suit others who always want it to go to the previous track would be great.

that's correct - that would be ok if the response of the Ultra would be faster. On normal 44/48/96khz files its working but everything larger and longer songs / bigger files it takes seconds. On DSD / dsf-files it sometimes it will even not response to that input / finger slide. Record is 12 seconds on a DSD256 file ^^

Another plus for "just" CD quality filles ;)

Please don't get me wrong, I am neither for nor against this request. I just want the WiiM app to mimic all the behaviour if it follows the conventions of streaming apps.

My concern every time this topic is raised is that people who don't normally use the WiiM app as a player will easily agree (just because it follows conventions).

Unfortunately, I have confirmed that that method does not work correctly with AlexaCast due to delays. Therefore, it is likely that some streaming will not work properly in WHA.
(I believe I've written about this before 🙂)

What happens if you tap once on the back button and wait for the track to restart then tap the back button to skip back?

First of all, the basic premise is that the Amazon music (Alexa cast) player has a large delay and the progress bar does not work correctly.

For this reason, I need to stare at the bar after pressing the back button and press the button exactly within 3 seconds after the pointer returns to the beginning. This is expected behaviour in WHA.

Impatiently, I have to hit the button repeatedly, which causes the player to freeze😅
