What do you think the future holds for digital music/audio ?

I hate the look of sound bars and i've always been puzzuled why TV screens don't have a simple 'sub out' as most of the sound should come from the screen, my Samsung screen sounds very good and has atmos and object sound trackingi built in, a simple bluetooth subout option would be great.

And a potential sale of half-a-dozen units.... 😁
why so negative, the AV audio home cinema market is huge and its logical for audio and video to coexist. You can choose to use an audio only option if you want, but the arrival of bluetooth and music streaming direct to both screens and soundbars means the AV world is changing we have DACS and not valves. Wiim is a multi use platform, its not a quad 303.

99% of the 8.2 billion inhabitants of this planet don't care about the AV audio home cinema scenario. You're talking about a niche market.

Multi channel music listening seems like the only way for music listening to progress. That will require more from the recording industry as far as remastering then it will from the hardware sector. I have no interest in combining streaming units when I already have an AVR that can do the job. One unit one goal.

i always found the AVR route a bit too cumbersome full size kit and loads of wired speaker connections. Wiim could use their knowledge and expertise to create sonos era 300 like speakers/hardware that would create the music enviroment with wiim sized kit and wireless connections.

Billions not millions 😁.... So, you're probably correct in assuming a huge market out there. I withdraw my assertion 😊
If you consider how many billions live in abject poverty, and how many more of us are likely to join them in the near future, the potential market is actually much smaller...

@Wiimer what could Ai potentially do with music .. apart from create random catchy 'free update' tunes
Hmm, I'm not sure, but what I do with AI matters more than what AI can do. Without a purpose, it's just a bit of fun and then it's over.
(For now) It's merely a tool for me.

I have listened to Atmos music tracks via Tidal, i really like it but choose to not listen to music because this way, because as far as i can tell its compressed and not lossles.

the links above might help explain some of this, as indeed there has been a lot of 'trial and error' to try and achieve the immersion but has not been 'lossless' .. I think Fraunhofer created the mp3 format so MPEG H could be the way forward ..
