What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

What’s next after ultra and amp plus? Wiim got everything covered except streamer only with just optical, coax usb and possible sub out. From here on, just an upgrade on existing one like with better chipset and analog stage. That’s just my opinion.

Or a good phono preamp minus the frills.

Mono radio/ stereo "ghetto blaster" with wiim streamer, ie like the Logitech Radio/Boom
Audio streamer transport
Audio streamer with a bigger screen
IR remote control facility, either IR window/remote or at least 3.5mm input for IR receiver cable.

Also programmable universal remote control. I'm using URC remotes, and a new version of something like that would be ideal. LCD screen, with hard buttons.

Absolutely not a "full touchscreen" remote

Tough to say, as you have things so well covered already.

- A Pro Plus with a sub out (a sort of Utra-lite).
- A standalone amp matching the shape/size/style of the streamers (though the Pro/Plus and Ultra are different)
- A Mini+ with enough processing power to handle room correction
- An Ultra + with balanced outs

I’m not sure I personally desire any of those, but they appear to fill pretty much all the ‘gaps’ in the current range, I think.

Most of what I’d like to see are things that don’t require a new model, like improved app view in landscape, more options as to what’s displayed, calibration mic which can be input into the USB, automatic calibration for sub level, phase, and latency.

Hi,

Personally I am not interested in the soundbar, but I think it is an appropriate lineup.

I am interested in wireless speakers that support Dolby Surround on Ultra. In other words, a product that can be used as a rear speaker (and center) for Ultra with MRM. It is conceivable that a wireless subwoofer could be included as part of these sets.

Since such speakers can also be used as the rear of a soundbar and can be used alone, it is even more desirable if they are waterproof and can be installed in a bathroom.

Thank you. 🤗

First Thanks for all your wonderful products in your lineup, that has been in line with the expectations and suggestions from the Users, also commendable and trustworthy support for the same from you.

I would suggest to come with Speakers and Sub Woofers, that can have a good synergy with the WiiM Amp / Streamers combination

This would be a complete setup for Stereo Listening

WiiM Bookshelf Speaker - WiiM BS followed by WiiM BS PRO

Wiim Floorstanding Speaker - Wiim FS followed by WiiM FS PRO

WiiM Sub Woofer - WiiM SUB followed by WiiM SUB PRO

Followed by the success of this, WiiM can introduce WiiM AV Receivers for the Home Theatre Enthusiasts

yeah support for umik1 and file is important, if I was to buy wiim Ultra I'd 100% want that, use USB port for mic, upload .CAL file in home app.

Also 6.5mm headphone out, rather than the smaller 3.5mm jack

What about a self contained music server? Ripper, converter, tagger, album art, replaygain scanner, converter, with two 3.5" bays for large capacity HDD. Ability to control from another computer, ie laptop connect either app or over IP (ideally both) with a good quality music database service, equal to LMS, open source, allow plugins etc.

As for AVR's, could work, AV pre amps would be ideal also (I'm using Tonewiner AT300, a £1000 16channel budget AV pre) that has a Wiim Ultra built in.

WiiM BS? An average marketing department will say stop 😉
Choosing an apt name for the product is upto the Marketing department

I gave suggestions for the products that I like to see as per the thread's objective :)

Personally I feel slightly disappointed with this request and let me explain why. Maybe it can be taken along in further communication strategy.

Strategy
Instead of talking next product I would like to hear a more strategic direction communication from WiiM. Why:
1. To introduce speakers/soundbar/sub it feels you have a direction to become some sort of Sonos competitor. Multi-room, decent sounding, easy to use speakers.
2. While most here on this forum are hifi lovers with dedicated listening systems (and some multi room on the side which the family uses as well). These are the people that are requesting balanced outs etc to take over functionality from more expensive hifi gear.

So what is the direction? Which audiences do you target? And is the audience of 1 vs 2 not a different market altogether?

Both are valid directions but what do you target?

Speakers audience
I would not immediately trust any of your speakers against passive/active hifi gear. You might do a great job but will need to build up some credit in this market first.

I would likely never buy a sub or soundbar.
If you build something Sonos One / Sonos Era100 like for use in bathroom/kids rooms/play room etc I would consider it.

However and this is the important part. I would likely not care much if it comes from WiiM/Sonos/Denon. It should just look nice enough, support Spotify Connect and be reasonably priced. I don't even care about ecosystem as I'm just seeing all those brands in the Spotify app to cast towards... Listening in those rooms is just not as critical.

Hifi audience
Curious to see how many of the reactions here are actually in this direction vs the above..

Personally:
I would consider buying.

1. WiiM Ultra gen2
The versatility/flexibility of the WiiM Ultra but then with extra's :
- Hdmi out for external display
- Add preamp balanced out next to RCA out. Or even double RCA out. This would allow external headphone amp and external speaker amp with easy management of channel settings (different room correction /PEQ) while keeping preamp/DAC in WiiM.

Or

2. Pro Plus next gen with
- Nicer alu case (like Ultra) with or without screen.
- Hdmi out for external display
- USB out
- Sub out

Or

3. Streamer only
- Nicer alu case (like Ultra) with or without screen
- Hdmi out for external display
- USB out as well obviously

Computer USB will be better, that way use USB stick/USB HDD for music mass storage.
Built in music scanner, so you don't need a NAS/UPNP/LMS

Also software development for a really good replacement for LMS and DNLA server, which is available on multiple platforms would be great, Windows, Apple, Linux, Raspberry Pi, NAS's of different types/builds.

Everybody their own needs/preferences which obviously makes this tricky.

Personally, if Plexamp support comes, and with roon certified I see this aspect covered.
Any efforts WiiM puts in making it more of a music server are lost for me. I see it as a streaming endpoint.

I don'tknow why you're critical of it .... a company that's actually asking their market what they want rather than just churning out stuff in the vain
hope that it'll be what they want and finding out they don't ..... I'd call it prudent market research.

I'm not surprised about that at all as their products so far have pretty much catered towards the HiFi audience but at a far more competitive price than other manufacturers.

Yeah I think that's fair. Maybe my wording was harsh.

Let's put it like this: I hope they still try to work on improving on the hifi audience as I shared what I feel would be even more valuable to me. But the speakers request seems to indicate going different direction. Hence my initial feeling of disappointment. Which I'm trying to share here as feedback.

As stated, I don't see the first direction as bad. Hope to get clarity.

It all fits into the multi room concept. Many people use a bedroom or bathroom Radio. Squeezebox Radios were ideal so something similar would be nice
