What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

Perhaps I am getting wrong here, but with the ultra and even the pro plus, WiiM already delivered excellent products thst rival far more expensive alternatives from the “house brands”. It’s not unreasonable that they might also make a sound bar as more people buy those than full hifi setups. It doesn’t stop them making the ultra pro and amp

Hi Team,

We'd love to hear your thoughts on potential new products! If we were to offer a speaker compatible with WiiM OS, would you be interested? How about a soundbar or subwoofer?

Your feedback is invaluable to us and will help us make informed recommendations to our team. Please share your interest and any additional thoughts you might have.

Thank you for being a part of our community!
A matching subwoofer working together with RC and volume control could be a good idea. A soundbar probably not. There are plenty to choose from. You just need to work out the communication with the soundbars.

Agree. But guesswork as well. So let WiiM share vision/direction please and not just some hints on new product?

This doesn’t interest me, but it’d sell like hot cakes. Lots of people already have streamer. Some don’t need a streamer.

So how about a WiiM DAC? Or WiiM DAC/Pre?

Like the Ultra, but no streamer or screen. Add a coax in. Remove the digital outs. Keep the PEQ, sub out, bass management.

My guess is price $200.

If the purpose is to widen the portfolio for massive Consumer Tech target, then this makes sense.. There are a lot of soundbars out there, so careful with that cluttered market.

Wireless / wired speakers and subs could be a good idea if we're trying to steal some marketshare from Sonos, now that a lot of user are unhappy with their platform.

As a WiiM amp owner I would like something to compliment my setup or add to a multi-room functionality.

I remember back in days there were av receiver being release yearly. Now, just portable speakers and sound bar.
Sorry but that’s rubbish. There are loads of AVRs that have been released this calendar year already.

Year by year when AVR hot on the market they release new model yearly. Look how long Yamaha, denon and onkyo model that has been out on market and no replacement on sight. They are being replace every like 4 years instead of yearly like before.

Why replace every year, when there are no extra features? You're spending millions for very little gain. Makes sense to release next gen when existing gen is starting to be out of date for features, ie HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.1

A new model that is exactly the same, but just offers one extra sub out wouldn't be worthwhile.

To you.

It might be to some others. Perhaps some haven't bought the Ultra because there's only 1 sub out. Perhaps some have, and are using a splitter, but would prefer two outs, and find the Ultra cheap enough that they're prepared to buy another, and sell the first, or put it to other use.

It really is going to get very tiresome if everyone has to explain their full reasoning from t'thread to t'needle every time they post a request at this thread.

Someone with multiple subs could get minidsp hdinstead. I bought one for £100 and it eqs four subs . Plus does a better job.

Also saves using peq filters you can use them on your speakers instead.

Unless you have disposable income and want next model just because it's pointless unless it's radically better. IE the Denon 800 offers four sub out and Dirac option so that could be worthwhile.

The sort of person who wants dive into the PC interface of Minidsp, and send far more than £100 (not sure how you got it for that) probably isn’t getting the Ultra anyway.

I’ve lost count of the number of ‘unless’es in your post. It’s easy to qualify any choice to death if you want to.

I am not a marketing person but it seems to me that making a WiiM speaker has much broader market appeal than a soundbar. A low price AV processor is an empty void in the current marketplace. As such I think it would appeal to many AV enthusiasts but this market may or may no be large enough for WiiM to make an investment in engineering resources.

On a related note, did anyone else notice that JBL has launched a line of AVRs?

Why ask me? I’m just saying what it was before? That was the trend before till it winds down because consumers started purchasing sound bar.

They used to be hot commodity before things have changed. Much like brick and mortar store are not expanding like they used to in fact closing down because Amazon is one shop place for nearly everything and delivered to your home without leaving home.

What products would you like to see based on what you've experienced so far?
A nice looking straight streamer, no DAC, no amp, with a bigger display, USB, coax, SPDIF, I2S outputs, n2mv slot and USB inputs for data and external storage.

A slim profile metal chassis streamer with ethernet, SPDIF (coax, toslink) input/output, USB input/output, HDMI ARC, external PSU, external antenna, Chromecast and AirPlay. No analogue I/O. No display - optional HDMI output for external display.

I want a network bridge streamer like the Volumio Rivo! And I want it now! C'mon WiiM! I know you can build one, no bells and whistles, just high quality internal parts, power filtering, galvanic isolation and a quality clock with stabilizer. Just like the Rivo... Keep the power supply external, I will supply my own.
