I could (if I had a spare device), but I want to just use my phone as a remote (like you do with Tidal and Spotify Connect. You can connect an iPhone, or iPad to your Ultra, and get full up to 24-Bit 192 kHz Apple Music.

Then you won’t be getting Apple Music lossless 24-bit 192kHz through your Ultra.I could (if I had a spare device), but I want to just use my phone as a remote (like you do with Tidal and Spotify Connect.
The Mini gives Airplay 2, that is even more away from high resolution. In any case the discussions about audible difference are most of the time senseless.I’ve got a spare WiiM Mini I can re purpose for Airplay, it looks like that’s the best option.
So it appears. Then you won’t be getting Apple Music lossless 24-bit 192kHz through your Ultra.![]()
What's the point?with USB input that plays the max 32bit/768 DSD of the ESS Dac.
What's the point?
Ah... just funny....For HTPC use, and we can play DSD files and max out the DAC i guess
Well I just set my WiiM Ultra up today after being on the fence about a streamer for a long long time. Thus it's pretty much guaranteed that the Ultra 2 will come along in the New Year lol
100% agree with all.I would like to see a streamer with an amplifier section built from Purifi modules, such as the 1ET6525SA. This would place the product in a different price tier, so it would not replace the current TI-based amps and streamer amps. This product would fit into the WiiM ecosystem as the top-tier offering and, for many users, would be the last streamer amp they would ever need, provided that the ARM platform can cope with future computing requirements.
Another suggestion for future development would be a computing platform capable of running more complex DRC algorithms (for example, licensed Dirac Live or REW). This would apply to future WiiM streamers or streamer amps, not just top-tier products.
All in all, I’m very happy with my WiiM Amp Ultra—so happy, in fact, that I would gladly pay for a more powerful alternative with a better amplifier section and enhanced DRC capabilities, and a slightly larger screen. That said, I still prefer using an 8-inch tablet with the WiiM Home app, which I like very much.
Yes ! Slightly bigger display + 100W hypex/purifi and airplay 2 will be perfect. I did AB tests of my Amp Ultra and Cambridge Evo 150, hypex on Cambridge did great jobI would like to see a streamer with an amplifier section built from Purifi modules, such as the 1ET6525SA. Eversolo T8 you mean?)Wiim Transport! Only Digital streaming with good power supply, I2S, good clock, dual usb output or SDD storage support!
