What Sub’s are you using / recommend

Elac 2070
The SUB 2070 impresses with an outstanding bass reproduction with a short response time, high clarity and enormous power.

Did you eventually find your favourite?
I ended up with a single KC62, although more expensive than some others my dealer honoured an earlier promo, pairs really well with the Meta’s the looks and size gives me lots of flexibility, i like the tight bass and I listen to mainly music, not so much Movie. It works well integrating with the WiiM Sub-woofer/ Bass Management and doesn’t have the issues with the Wireless Meta’s that some users reported

Definitive Technology Pro 800 x 2. They are not expensive. They match up well with my Klipsch bookshelves. They have more bass than I use.

Open baffle subs won't plumb the depths, load your room or disturb your sleeping wife two rooms away.

Linkwitz claims OB bass to be more accurate than boxed bass.

H-frame OB subs with their external Yung plate amps. I built these years ago and their modular design allows them to be paired with any number of full range single driver speakers which sit on top. An H-frame is an open ended cube with a large high Qts woofer in the middle.

I have a pair of LS50 Meta’s, am interested in a Sub, what are you guys using and experience using the WiiM Amp, and connectivity, using the settings of the Sub Out how do u find it “offloads” the Mains which i would assume would benefit the WiiM Amp at the low end, vs the recommended full range speaker out from Rel. realize will be lots of variations depending on mains, my shortlist - Rel Tzero certainly good budget option, SVS 3000 Micro or Kef KC62 but expensive, oh i don’t want larger (e.g Rel 5X) I like clean / tight bass and must come in White. Room is Medium 5m x 4m. I have listened to both Rel and Kef as although i heard lots of issues with KC62 but with LS50W2. Thanks for any Thoughts

I'm using a SVS SB Ultra 13. I would recommend a sealed sub, they just seem easier to integrate with hifi speakers, without room EQ. I also have ported subs elseware.

The WiiM Amp in the master bedroom uses the built-in sub for the Atlantic Technologies 3.1 HSB; the WiiM Amp in the living room uses a Paradigm PDR-100 to go with the Quantum QP9; the WiiM Ultra uses a Snell PS10 that is now passive and uses an AudioSource AMP102 only because it was sitting around and got tired of making adapter plates for plate amps. Granted, the Snell is at least 21 years old (bought is salvage) and is in the 3rd house that I owned, so time and moving probably lead to two plate amps dying.

Arendal 1723 2v...a monster...but perfect for music lovers..wiim ultra has the perfect sub calibration. My speakers are dynaudio focus 60xd

I just recommissioned my old JBL PSW1000. Only now (after looking it up) do I realize it’s almost 30 years old, but it still kicks pretty good. I lost count of how many mains it’s been run with over the years. Right now it’s working with two Polk Blackstone TL3’s, but that’s going to change to Paradigm Monitor SE 6000F’s in just a couple of days, so we’ll soon see how old school gets along with new.

KC62 - Will fit those LS50’s perfectly and it’s ”fast”. ”Pay once, cry once” I’d say and just put out the cash 🤑

I have the SVS SB1000pro and like the strong, deep yet tight bass it gives. Got it from the SVS outlet for 100 off so pretty good deal (they sold out of these unblemished ones in a day - likely more to come though). I would have liked to try the 3000 micro but as you said, getting a bit pricey.
Have the same one, my first ever sub.
For it’s price it does a good job, but would upgrade in the future, love the DSP function!

That Arendel has a built in PEQ, 7 bands. So you have a choice of using the one in the wiim, or the one in the sub (or both if making sure they don't overlap each other)

correct, but I prefer to use the Wiim Ultra correction directly with the Umik-1 microphone. the result is awesome

If that works for you thats great :)

But consider this, when doing the changes via Wiim, you are altering the digital signal and having the Wiim process it in it's DSP chain before it reaches your amp or your external DAC, you would do less impact to the signal if just letting the Sub do the DSP on the part it receives and leave all else alone from processing.

This is a good advise
