WiiM Amp Firmware v5.0.714744 Update - Apr 23, 2025

Totally agree. This needs to be corrected or rolled back ASAP.
It has been rolled back for the Ultra so I expect it will be rolled back or fixed soon for the Amp too.

Respect to wiim for all these updates and contact with device owners, but I completely don't understand how this situation came about. Basic functionality no longer works as an upgrade. It's weird.

When can I expect the previous way of hdmi auto sensing to return? Manualbe switching to hdmi every time I finish listening to music over wifi is annoying. It is after all not auto at all despite the name lol. It worked perfectly before, don't understand this change at all for wiim amp.
I just got update 5.2.715362 for the Ultra.

Unfortunately nothing is working as expected.

You still have to manually change to TV input when pausing other inputs. Only difference is that the TV don't change to internal speakers.

The lib-synch is very bad when selecting TV input.

And of cause the issue with TV changing to HDMI ARC with WiiM Ultra still in standby is still there.

Unfortunately, it's the HDMI/CEC standard that's pretty weird. Incompatibilities are rather the rule than the exception.

How to disable auto update? I have a problem with volume control via hdmi after update :(
You cannot disable auto updates.

We will probably receive a new update in the next few days, but you can also report problems by submitting a ticket through the feedback section of the WiiM app.

You can actually ask WiiM to revert you to a previous firmware in case you encounter problems by submitting feedback through the WiiM Home app, so @Wiimer's advice is the best in any case.

In this particular case I'm also very confident that WiiM will shortly offer an update that will revert to the previous HDMI behaviour, just as they did for the WiiM Ultra.

But please, do take the time and let WiiM know about your problems. When you send feedback via the WiiM Home app, device logs will be send along, so WiiM can have a deeper look into what's actually happening.
