In my country, Amazon JP has already started pre-sale, but unfortunately the Amp Ultra is not included.

In Canada, yes, $599 CAD instead of $749 CAD

Currently the best price listed at idealo.de is 557€. It was already at 549 this weekend. The blowout price was at hifi.eu (from Belgium, but they ship free no neighboring countries) for € 489 (and possibly 2% less after adjusting for German VAT). That was 2-3 weeks ago and I spent too much time pondering.

Shame there’s no deal on the Sub Pro in the UK. Had been waiting for this for a few weeks. I had assumed that, since it was in the BF marketing picture and had been reduced in the US, that it’d be reduced in the UK

I had been waiting for this event for a few weeks to buy an Amp Ultra and a Sub Pro, both are not discounted in the Netherlands.

Was this not the usual way over the last years? The newest products not on discount? Personally I understand the company well, for a while enough people will pay the original price. At the bottom line it will be fine. Once the first storm is done the discounts will appear.
Private notice, in his BF week my dealer in Germany offered the Amp Ultra for 549 € last week. Since today morning it is up to 599 € again. A little bird whispered in my ears that the German distributor was not too happy with that 549 € tag.

Wiim Amp Ultra $ 423.20 in US (that is €434 when you add German VAT or €458 when I get Amazon.com to ship it to me and pay VAT), Wiim Ultra $263.20, in spite of the fact that import tariffs to the US have probably gone up. Maybe that is the answer to who pays for the tariffs, customes in other countries do (I realize that this is not always the case, e.g. lots of stuff on Aliexpress has become cheaper as Chinese exporters are dumping stuff on Europe).

Well, I thought. And I went for the standard Ultra. Picked one up from Richer Sounds for the same price as Amazon, but with a 6 year guarantee. Amazed Richer Sounds are still going! Last thing I bought from them was a Sony MZ-R55 minidisc player. Anyone remember those?!

I'll upgrade the amplification side of things in due course.
