Hey. Just got the ultra and totally blown away by it. We were playing hi-res from tidal via the wiim app using an android tablet with the wiim tv app on our ATV 4K 3rd gen and we also found the lyrics were glitchy. We changed to using the tidal app and tidal connect on out android tablet and not only is everything clearer and punchier etc but the lyrics haven't glitched once...is this just a coincidence...I dunno but it works for us, maybe see what you think....

Coincidence, as both the WHA (WiiM App) and the Tidal app is just controllers. The music streaming on the WiiM is exactly the same.

As you say.... coincidence. However the lyrics haven't glitched once and continue to work as intended. Very happy user here

I don't know about Tidal, but Qobuz doesn't do lyrics in its own app, so this is stupendous for us Qobuz users, and gives me back something from Apple Music that I missed dearly converting to Qobuz.

I would imagine you do miss them. We have Apple Music and the lack of Airplay 2 is something we'll be looking to overcome down the road but for now all's good

Pretty neat! Starting to look and feel very mature, very quickly! Now if I see one more comment asking for an HDMI output from one of the streamers.......

Any estimate when the new features will come to the Android version?

the volume displayed by the app does not adjust when the volume is changed e.g. by the remote.

I might get punished for posting about the Google TV app in an Apple TV thread, but when I change the volume via remote it takes about 4-5 secs for it to be reflected in the google tv app.
When I change volume in the tv app it takes about 1 sec for the wiim home app to reflect that.
So there's hope for the apple app yet

Gave it a try and you are right. When streaming Tidal through its dedicated app and Tidal Connect, the lyrics sync issue isn’t there. I can jump to every position in a song and the lyrics are perfectly in sync, even on highres tracks. Great!

I tried this in a sort of systematic way and it does not seem to work on my unit - the wrong sync is exactly the same regardless the source (tidal connect vs. wiim home app) - same problems for same songs in same moments. It seems to me that the app is using some third-party lyrics service and those problems result from occassionally wrong timecodes on this service (it was common a few years ago, when such solutions were user-curated). I guess that this also explains why: (i) sometimes there are wrong lyrics displayed (coming from other songs - try e.g. Adored by Been Stellar - I guess that it mismatches the lyrics for songs with same titles), (ii) sometimes the lyrics are available e.g. on Tidal, but not within the app, and (iii) probably the opposite is also possible (but not encountered this yet). Anyway - even with those occasional problems this is really very good and much appreciated addition to the app.

You’re absolutely correct it is a much appreciated addition to the app and I believe it’s still in the beta stage. I’m just grateful to have it tbh…

Glad you’re having a positive experience..it’s still working well for me. Enjoy
