WiiM Pro and RoomFit failure

I'm really enjoying my new WiiM Pro but cannot get RoomFit to analyze my room. I have tried rebooting my router, WiiM, and phone as well as clearing the app cache (Google Pixel 7 Pro), but the same thing happens every time. After I start the analyzing, the generic error page displays instantly, 3-4 seconds before the chip and sweep tones play. Then, apparently the WiiM is continuing to try to use the mic, because the green Android mic indicator continues to display until I completely close out the app. Tech support is trying to assist but no joy yet. So, has anyone else encountered this same problem, and how was it resolved? Thanks!

Hi
Could you post a screenshot of the error screen here?

This might be a silly question, but is microphone permission granted to the WiiM app? (Typically, Android displays a dialog if an app doesn't have microphone permission.)

Something similar happens here today. WiiM Ultra, WiiM Pro Plus, WiiM Pro same result.
Enter Roomfit set frequency range in the cog menu go back, click next…Nothing Happens.
WiiM restarted, app closed, phone restarted no change. It is as if the next button is completely disconnected.

I ran Ultra RoomFit on an Android phone and found no issues.

Is the WiiM app the latest version (3.4.12)?

Yes. I’m on WiiM app 3.4.12.26012418
I’ve since discovered Roomfit is working on the same devices but using a 2015 iPad which doesn’t support the lastest OS. Must be an issue with some iPhones. I’ve since seen another posting from someone else who has the same issue.

I tried RoomFit again this morning after installing the APK Android app that tech support sent to me. Now the RoomFit process makes it through listening to the chirp and sweep tones, but now I get the unable to connect to server error. So no RoomFit equalization so far. I rebooted everything (fiber optic modem, router, WiiM, phone) and tried again and got the same unable to connect error. Could there be some sort of weird geographic restriction occuring? I am in Costa Rica. The primary reason I am hoping to get RoomFit working is to clean up the muddy bass and mid-bass of my powered speakers (pair of Edifier 2850). I have it a little better using the parametric EQ, but I know the RoomFit can do it much better. :-)

So this is a mystery to me. I have tried with everything on the VPN (USA node) and everything off the VPN, but there's no connection to the RoomFit server. Should I try to put everything on the VPN for a different country entirely??

Infortunately I can not assist with this exact issue, but will add that WHEN u get this working - set the low freq range for the room fit (settings) at 500Hz. This is because your smartphone device mic and eq is voiced for - voice. It can not handle sub audio freq. Result is the Wiim may create an eq with overboosted low end.

500Hz? Do you mean 50Hz? If you set the low frequency limit to 500Hz there is very little point in using RoomFit at all.

I am sorry for the mistake. I meant to say upper limit. Most room acoustics issues (standing waves/boomy bass) happen below 500 Hz. Above this "Schroeder frequency," the room behaves more predictably, and your phone mic is likely to introduce errors rather than fix them

Ok, this creates another question. I don't have access to a USB-C measurement mic, but I have a small shotgun mic that I can use with an adapter. Even though it's not calibrated, would that be better than the Google Pixel 7's built-in mic?
