WiiM Pro or Pro Plus

Hi!
Just to ask before i buy any ....WiiM Pro or Pro Plus if I connect the device to a Yamaha A-S501 integrated amplifier. I'm asking this because I don't know if it's worth paying more for the Pro Plus because of the DAC it has and how can I tell if it's better than the Yamaha DAC amplifier...

I have the PRO+ despite the fact that I had a seperate high-end DAC, a Metrum NOS Ladder DAC. However, it‘s already a couple of years old and I wanted to give it a try with the PRO+. Fact is, there are only very small difference between the two. I am happy with it. The older Metrum is a Backup for now…

Mr Google says that the DAC in Pro Plus is better than than your Yamaha's and the Pro's DAC is about the same. The plus comes with a remote that the Pro doesn't. I find the remote worthwhile for its presets. Get the Pro Plus. It's not that much more expensive.

Yeah, I saw that as an answer but I still wasn't sure lol.

No, this does not come with a remote control with the Pro model...
Sorry,is remote control needed ?Can it be controlled with the remote from the TV if I use the WiiM home app on the android TV

I also have an as501 and previously had it paired with a wiim mini (yamaha dac was better), before changing to a wiim ultra (better than yamaha). I agree you should go with the pro plus if you want a better dac.

The impact to move the loudspeakers back or forth 10cm might be indeed bigger!

This is not meant provocatively, but can anyone really HEAR a difference between those DACs? I know, some measure better than others but any of those differences seem to lie in inaudible regions.

The difference between the pro analog out and any other dac I've used, including ultra analog out, is huge.
The pro simply sounds awful to me. (As does the mini.)

You think best option buy cheaper WiiM and use Yamaha intern dac?

Detecting fundamental differences between up-to-date DACs by ear and embellishing them with frills like LPSs or similar gadgets I’ll leave to those who are more lyrically inclined.

The pro plus also has a better analog input stage which may be important for some.

Personally I’d go for the Pro Plus.
