Hi ,

I have bought the Wiim Pro Plus to connect it to Wiim Amp for the better DAC. LINE Out ( RCA ) from Wiim Pro Plus to Line IN(RCA) to Wiim Amp. When i stream music from Spotify and try to apply an EQ ( preset ) or Custom it doesnt change the music sound at all. Can someone enlight me on this ? When I was playing music thru Wiim AMP Only the EQ worked.

Best regards,

Andrei

Hi,

Silly question - is Spotify connect connected to the Pro plus?
If it is connected to Amp, the EQ in Pro plus will not be reflected.

Run RoomFit on the Pro plus and check the measurement results and the sound changes after correction.

Hi,

Wiimer is asking whether you chose the Pro Plus in Spotify, or the amp.
Both will appear in the list, choose the one you want.

I'm wondering what you are trying to achieve here.
The wiim amp will digitise the analog input and then use its dac to convert it back to analog.
i.e you'll be using both dacs.

Hi and thanks for the fast reply. Yes it seems that AMP appears on the connect also. Should i remove it ?

It does not have to be removed. (I don't think you can remove it, though.)

When Spotify is connected to Pro plus, Pro plus plays the music, so Pro plus EQ is applied.

When Spotify is connected to Amp, Amp plays the music, so Pro plus EQ is not applied.

Also, once you have started Spotify on Pro Plus, open the Graphic EQ screen.

Make sure 'Wi-Fi' is selected in the tab at the top, and turn down all bands above 250hz to the most bottom. Check that this removes the treble from the speakers.

Not at all... thats why im asking for opinions ... im out of ideeas :) it is working perfect thru youtube music ( cast to wiim pro plus ) ... spotify connect not at all

So ive managed to identify the probem and it seems its with Spotify Connect related. I have connected thru Chrome Cast from Spotify to Wiim Pro Plus and it is working

Streaming from Spotify to Wiim Pro Plus and using the Wiim AMP it works
I don't understand why you use the Pro Plus?

The analog output of the Pro Plus will use the Pro Plus DAC but will then use the Amp ADC followed by the DAC, and on both WiMs your EQ will be applied.

I make no sense. You cannot bypass the DAC of the Amp. It's the one used for the amplifier output.

Yes it works , i forgot to mention that ...

This may be unlikely to solve your problem, but please try.

1) Reboot the pro plus (disconnect the power cable).
2) Play TurnIn radio in the WiiM app and check the EQ works.
3) Clear the cache or reinstall the WiiM app.

You can also connect the Pro plus to the Amp with the Optical cable and see if the EQ works..

To be honest, I have no idea why the EQ doesn't work only on Spotify. It seems like a human error.

It may be worth trying to reinstall the Spotify app, but I think the connection method and the WiiM EQ are irrelevant.
