WiiM pro reversing stereo channels through the SPDIF input

I have my WiiM pro installed between my CD player and DAC. And when using the SPDIF input to play CD's the channels are intermittently reversed (L/R to R/L) ...... I've tried reseating the cables, swapping them out completely and rebooting the unit several times to no avail. Are there any upcoming upgrades to solve this issue ?

Having the same issue, hooked it up to a PC and played around. Seems to be when the signal starts/stops it flips the channels. If you swap applications on a PC (ie kill the audio out for a moment) it causes channels to flip. Only solution I've found is to swap application again or reboot the device.

I've noticed the same flipped channel issue via spdif for a while and my Pro is only a couple of weeks old, so it could have been like that from new.
I'll try doing a factory reset on the unit later to see if it helps, assuming there is that option.

There is an option to reboot in the app, but you can factory reset it by pressing and holding the play/pause button for 10secs.

Please submit a ticket if you haven’t already done so.

Put my PC to sleep (leaving the Pro connected to the internet), went away for a few hours and when I came back, the channels were reversed again. Did a reboot, rather than a factory reset, and it's back to the correct channels again. Hmm..

And I received a reply: "We want to assure you that the issue you've encountered is known to us, and our team is actively investigating to determine the cause. We are committed to resolving it as quickly as possible. Your patience and understanding during this process are greatly appreciated."

I've noticed this too. Not only is the sound from the optical input reversed, but also when streaming. I use the optical output to my dac. WIIM pro. Have not tested if the same is true for the analog output or the coaxial one.

Yes ........... I opened a ticket prior to making this post. The technicians at WiiM have made several attempts at correcting the problem thusfar (via firmware updates) to no avail :(

Same thing here, running spdif in/out, channel flip after inactivity. Also opened a ticket. Really bummed out as spdif in/out is the only use case and reason i bought my WiiM Pro for.

i'm just trying to see if there are any patterns here that we can try and replicate... just to be clear when you are referring to S/PDIF you mean toslink/optical and not coax (cos they're both technically S/PDIF - but obviously there is no coax in so...)

if i understand the issue correctly - the swapped channels - once it occurs - it stays that way until you either restart the WiiM or in @noony's case starting a new application on the PC for audio then it fixes it?? 😵‍💫 have any of you tried to see what happens if you keep using the device in this "channel-swapped" state to see if the system randomly reverts to functioning normally again?

and according to @D1N0 this is not isolated to optical in. it also occurs when streaming? in this case - with streaming - have you noticed this happen at particular times? (@noony suggested when audio is paused for a moment) does it occur with all streaming services??

it seems really strange. i've been using optical out from many streaming sources and never once experienced this issue.

It's toslink input and toslink output, that's all I'm using, I have standby mode enabled (2 minutes) and auto sensing of optical in enabled as well. Not sure if that affects anything but fixed volume output is also enabled and my spdif max output resolution is set to 24/192. I'd suspect the standby wake-ups might be the cause, this is the first time I've noticed it so I haven't had much time to reproduce/test this thoroughly. Will update if i'll notice a clear pattern.

Most importantly: Also provide feedback (that's WiiM's wording for opening a ticket) through the WiiM Home App. Device logs will be sent along with your description plus you can add pictures.

This issue appeared to have been fixed some time ago, but obviously not so (under all circumstances).
