How do you turn Roomfit off now? After adding the EQ to the now playing screen they will need to add Roomfit as well 😂
only from the app.
as a workaround, i turned Roomfit on, choose the room correction EQ i was using, its settings appeared in parametric EQ (relief), and saved it there to a new EQ profile. then turned Roomfit off and adjusted my presets with the "new" EQ profile.

You can turn it off in the RoomFit settings. The point is however that you don't turn it off. You set it for your output to get a neutral sound that correct for the room and then you apply EQ on top of that.

The thing missing in the current implementation is that the RoomFit profile is not associated with a specific output. It should, as each output needs it's own correction.

there's more - with the new RoomFit update, you can't turn it off form the Ultra's EQ screen.
is there a way to revert back?
Probably not? I am in fact quite frustrated with the suboptimal implementation of this feature, but this should not obscure that overall this is a very good and super-useful feature. I guess that @WiiM Team will eventually tweak it a bit (adding this to presets and / or most importantly: outputs) and then it would be absolutely perfect add-on? So we should patiently wait:).

You can wonder why @WiiM Team didn't fully implement the functionality from the start?

honestly i feed kinda dumb updating the firmware "automatically" before reading your detailed message on it.
oh well, wasted half an hour or so and turned Roomfit off.

I suppose the list of Roomfit profiles is also available in the settings. I am sure we all have numerous profiles to choose from. B&K, Flat, Harmon, stereo, l/r etc 🙂

Yes. You can select a profile or turn RoomFit off.

And of course create new profiles, edit and delete them. You can however not associate a profile with the output it was created for. And you cannot copy a profile to the EQ.

Indeed currently using a Harmon one, btw didn’t like flat to much 😜
Actually like using this feature now before I thought it changed the sound quality for the worst for me at least

Do you use stereo or individual channel? Individual channel results in more bass.

Well, probably it is not easy to consider all use-cases and only when fully released they can learn what should be further improved? But I cannot avoid the impression that we are a sort of unfair to @WiiM Team - often we are complaining just because they actually try to do (a lot of) good things? While many other, much larger companies release their products and keep them as they are for ages w/o adding any new functionalities?

However in this particular case the omission is really.hard to explain as this is so obvious and at core of the functionality (correction is inherently linked to the output being played) and this function have been beta-tested for many months. I am wondering if this resulted from relatively narrow group of beta-testers (so this has not been spotted) or otherwise?

Presumably the team envisaged using two WiiM devices for use cases such as yours.
(They probably thought that wouldn't need separate RoomFit for the Coaxial and Optical outputs, for example.)

........
@WiiM Team, @WiiM Support,
Ticket No.539415

Testing 'Room Correction & EQ Integration' on my Ultra. RoomFit does not turn off when the output is switched to headphones. I think this feature is at least necessary, will it be added in the future?

Ideally, it would be useful to add a RoomFit section to the Smart Preset registration screen, with the ability to select profiles and switch them on and off.

Thank you.

Thank you! I would also add that the RoomFit could be registered to particular outputs - this would likely solve 90% problems (you would add them to presets indirectly - via assigning Output).

At the risk of being called a fanboy: Independent EQ and RoomFit is the most important single improvement since the introduction of 10 band EQ for me. Period.

Those who don't care for RoomFit or EQ at all, thanks for your input. Admittedly, I don't care about your priorities but my own. ;)
Everyone is entitled to their own option, naturally, but 90% of the criticism I simply cannot follow at all. WiiM introduce a new feature (which is mainly optional as you can more or less use everything as before if you prefer), it's just not available from the touchscreen. How can this be reduced functionality? That's twisted logic! 🤪
WiiM design and role out the core functionality first. That's the change that really adds the value. They care about the fine tuning later, improving manageability and ease of use. That's the way they have done it from the beginning and it's simply the typical agile way. How can we still be surprised? :D

Thank you @WiiM Team for implementing this killer feature only available on expensive high-end equipment so far. (y)
