WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.804553 Update - Jan 14, 2026

Please review the WiiM Ultra update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us. This firmware update is being rolled out in stages, with devices updating sequentially over the next few days.

5.2.804553 (In Progress)

Release date:

Jan 14, 2026

What’s New:
  1. Plex Remote Access: You can now stream from your Plex media server over a wide-area network (remote connection).
  2. Localization: Added German language support for the device screen.

User Experience & Interface:
  1. Faster Setup: Optimized the Wi-Fi onboarding flow for reduced setup time. Added a "Cancel" option and clearer device name display during the process.
  2. Screen Enhancements:
    • Volume Feedback: The screen now wakes to show the volume bar when adjusting volume, even if the display was off.
    • Responsiveness: Fixed a display delay when switching inputs via the remote.
    • Source Switching: Improved the switching speed when changing between different audio inputs.

Audio & Stability:
  1. Streaming Stability:
    • TIDAL Connect: Fixed an issue causing random playback stops.
    • Amazon Music: Resolved an issue where playback occasionally failed to start.
    • TuneIn: Fixed playback issues specific to NPR podcasts.
  2. System Performance:
    • USB Library: Fixed a potential memory issue (OOM) during large library scanning for better stability.
    • DAC Settings: Refined the logic for default DAC filter selection.
    • Alarms: Fixed a bug where alarm presets would not stop playing after the set duration ended.

Mine got it in the last day or so too.
And I see there's a beta released on Jan 14 too that I hadn't noticed before. Not that I check the beta screen very often so it may have been there for a week already.
Yes, that beta version has been there for about a week, and I’m surprised that nobody has mentioned it before.🤔

I wonder what poeple have in their heads. You cannot seriuosly expect that WiiM integrates every available streaming service.
I'm always amazed by people who think that only their own wishes and ideas should be taken into account—and that everything else is complete nonsense.
They probably yell across the restaurant, "Hey, why do you want a steak? Order some pancakes, that's what I had and I'm happy with it."

I searched for updates last night without any success
But this morning it had arrived and my Ultra has just been successfully updated.
All times in CET since I'm in Sweden

Just had the update only I haven't! My Ultra has just gone back in time.
Left it unplugged for 15 minutes still showing older firmware than I already had.
No spectrum analyser, anyone else had the same or have I got to put in yet another ticket?

That's a beta version.
You won't move off that unless you choose to.
Strange if you didn't specifically choose it, which you imply you diidn't.

Edit: actually, it's not the beta I thought. All those 3s and 4s confused me!!
I saw 733433 on the 24th, not 733343 on the 23rd.
See how confusing it is?!

Enjoy the Kylie firmware edition. (Step back in time)

I was on a beta firmware for spectrum analyser several months back but I came off that and I was on the latest firmware until today when I had the prompt come up to update to the latest one. Instead I got one from way back . I think you could be right, WiiM may think that I'm still on a beta test. I've sent a ticket asking that they send the correct version down to me. I agree, all those digits in a row are confusing to me as well. 👍

I received 5.2.804553 today and music is cutting out with Tidal, and now Linn radio

Desktop system working with Tidal

So far ARC from TV no issues, only streaming music.

using Ethernet to Ultra.

When I click on a track in Tidal from the WHA, the next track starts playing.

I opened a ticket. totally baffled. restarted and unplugged the Ultra, restarted the router just in case.

Got this update on my Ultra. It has the same problem now that I reported on the latest WiiM Amp update thread where Plex will not stream losslessly (and capped at 16bit/48kHz). Support ticket opened.

Got this email this morning from support after I put in a ticket because I got sent an update that was several months old

"We will be pushing a new version, 5.2.805336, to you today. The current OTA version has issues with playing Plex, so we are releasing this new version to address the problem."
Maybe good for you as well?

Confirmed it was working fine yesterday, transcoding FLAC to MP3 😡

Let's hope it doesn't take days to be pushed to our devices as is usually the case...
