WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.809035 Update - Feb 28, 2026

Display & UI:

1. Per-Input Now Playing: Customize the Now Playing screen for each input source.
2. New Cover Layouts: Added larger album-art views for a more immersive playback screen, with Home and Music Source icons hidden.
3. Dolby Visuals: VU Meter and Audio Spectrum now work during Dolby playback.

Playback & Audio:

1. Optical In: Fixed dropouts caused by input stream format changes.
2. Short-Track Transitions: Improved near-end handling to prevent skipping or audio “leakage.”
3. Track Skips: Resolved multiple cases of unexpected skipping / premature track changes across services.

Radio & Streaming Services:

1. Live Metadata: Added ICY support for richer “now playing” info on TuneIn, iHeartRadio, and BBC Radio.
2. Qobuz: Added Track Radio / Artist Radio / Album Radio.
3. vTuner: Improved reliability with backup stream URL fallback.
4. SoundCloud: Added third-party login support.
5. TuneIn: Fixed alarms occasionally starting late or failing to start playback.
6. iHeartRadio / Pandora: Fixed intermittent stops and unexpected skipping.
7. Napster: Fixed My Music playback failures, incorrect station controls, and a disconnect-on-no-internet crash.
8. Plex: Fixed alarm progress display, station history playback failures, and occasional early skips.
9. Amazon Music: Fixed interruptions when playing short playlists.

USB & NAS:

1. USB Notifications: Added connect/disconnect pop-ups.
2. Faster Browsing: Reduced app timeouts when browsing USB drives.
3. NAS Playback: Fixed playback and display issues for NAS sources.

I just got the shelf mounted and the equipment moved up there tonight as a matter of fact!


I’ve got a VESA swivel arm wall mount and might mount that monitor under the shelf and less prominent. In any case, tweaking and cable management to follow.

Great acoustics and the WiiM Ultra has really impressed me. It’s ready for its next firmware update any time now [see how I got back on topic there ?].

Did they add subwoofer level and cross-over settings in the Preset instead of just "enable or disable sub"

Or at least make a preset for the subwoofer level, crossover, and speaker/sub timing within the subwoofer menu.

While I know there are a lot of different use-cases out there with some wanting this or that feature or others needing some glitch fixed, I'm trying to think of the last time an update fixed a problem for me or offered a change that directly improved my listening experience. It's been awhile....

Only issue I had is volume control adjusted the outputs, even though I set fixed level output. This is through slimsqueeze

I got the v5.2.809035 update here in NY sometime today, but no rocket notification with the release notes again, at some point my unit just silently updated and I only even know that because I just checked.

That's what I experienced as well :') can't complain really as the new features work great, but the update mechanism is a bit unpredictable really.

I'm on Beta, so maybe that's the reason but still strange.
