WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.809035 Update - Feb 28, 2026

Display & UI:

1. Per-Input Now Playing: Customize the Now Playing screen for each input source.
2. New Cover Layouts: Added larger album-art views for a more immersive playback screen, with Home and Music Source icons hidden.
3. Dolby Visuals: VU Meter and Audio Spectrum now work during Dolby playback.

Playback & Audio:

1. Optical In: Fixed dropouts caused by input stream format changes.
2. Short-Track Transitions: Improved near-end handling to prevent skipping or audio “leakage.”
3. Track Skips: Resolved multiple cases of unexpected skipping / premature track changes across services.

Radio & Streaming Services:

1. Live Metadata: Added ICY support for richer “now playing” info on TuneIn, iHeartRadio.
2. Qobuz: Added Track Radio / Artist Radio / Album Radio.
3. vTuner: Improved reliability with backup stream URL fallback.
4. SoundCloud: Added third-party login support.
5. TuneIn: Fixed alarms occasionally starting late or failing to start playback.
6. iHeartRadio / Pandora: Fixed intermittent stops and unexpected skipping.
7. Napster: Fixed My Music playback failures, incorrect station controls, and a disconnect-on-no-internet crash.
8. Plex: Fixed alarm progress display, station history playback failures, and occasional early skips.
9. Amazon Music: Fixed interruptions when playing short playlists.

USB & NAS:

1. USB Notifications: Added connect/disconnect pop-ups.
2. Faster Browsing: Reduced app timeouts when browsing USB drives.
3. NAS Playback: Fixed playback and display issues for NAS sources.

I also noticed that if I'm playing a radio station (so Ethernet input) I can still use the TV (HDMI) remote to adjust the Wiim's volume, but now I'm wondering if that's always been a thing and I've just never noticed/tried.

Yup, that's always been the case! A nice side effect of the WiiM always responding to CEC commands, it seems

I believe(d) that somewhere along the way my presets lost their "Set Custom Volume" values. I typically use those to quickly jump between radio stations (volume 55) and HDMI (volume 85), but when I jumped to the radio I jumped to my ceiling from how loud it was. Like you, it was taking the previous night's HDMI volume.

There is a bug in volume control just after a reboot. Instead of following the per input or custom volume setting, it uses the volume last used before the reboot.

I have raised a number of tickets for this ( #557441, #548221) in the last 4 months. I is not a new issue.

The ghostly "Bass Management" menu suddenly appeared again within the settings page of the Ultra.
This time I was able to navigate into it and find an horizontal cursor aimed at set the bass system response, then went out and it disappeared.

I would like to be able to change the artwork in the app when listening to a CD or vinyl. It would be great if that sad, grey artwork was customizable and I could choose the image myself.

I don't use Tunein, I use "Öppna nätverksström"(Open Network Stream)

Yes. One of the playback options should be screen off. This has been asked for before (a long time ago).

This option could replace the current Screen disable setting, that is a bit odd.

@WiiM Support Now we have per input screen settings it would be a better option to have all playback screen settings in one place.

This could be a beta firmware. Maybe not.

Which constant are you referring to? Some users constantly complaining about not getting an announced firmware as if they had an immediate right to? Or other users constantly complaining about firmware versions being pushed before there is an announcement on the forum?
