Wiim Ultra issue with HDMI ARC pausing randomly

I have the Ultra connected to my LG OLED C1 using the HDMI ARC connection. The sound is great, and I like that the Ultra recognizes when I turn on the TV and switches over to HDMI-ARC input. Watching a movie last night, connected to a 4k Blu-ray player, I noticed the sound drop out for a second and come back on. On the Ultra screen it showed the PAUSE icon then immediately back to PLAY. Over the course of a 3-hour movie it probably happened 10 times. I haven't reported it to "feedback" yet, wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and found a solution.

Thanks

Does this fix the same issue on the optical input?

I’ve had similar issues with HDMI ARC causing random pauses. It could be related to HDMI handshake problems or settings in either the Ultra or the TV. Try checking for firmware updates for both devices, and ensure that all HDMI cables are securely connected. If the problem persists, contacting support might be the next step.
So does the update fix your issues?

Happy to report the update fixed the issue I reported above. Nice work WiiM support !

Bringing this back as I'm having a similar issue. I have my HDMI ARC connected to my Samsung monitor. I'm also using a Roku. It all works fine but when I pause a show and then come back to it, the audio is gone. I have to shuffle through Wiim's input and then put it back on "TV" to get the volume back. Is this a known issue as well?

Could be because the WiiM goes into standby? In that case it will ask CEC connected devices to change to their internal speakers.

This behavior is a bit strange but I see it's working that way. The WiiM Ultra handling of CEC is unfortunately not correct.

You could try to set standby time higher.

Thanks. WiiM is set to never go into standby so that shouldn’t be it.

In addition to the issues with the Roku I faced similar issues last night as the OP did with a Blu Ray player connected. Samsung ARC to Ultra, player HDMI audio/video connected to Samsung. The sound drops and I have to shuffle through the settings on the Ultinate and come back to “TV” for it to come back. Are there certain audio settings on the Samsung and player that might help?

In the case when the sound drops do it "move" to the TV speakers?

If it does then it may be caused by some illegal or random commands on CEC.

Yes.

But after changing HDMI cables this morning, I stuck a disc into the Blu Ray player and the audio came through the speakers right away and never stopped. So I suppose it's possible the cable was a problem, although it's the cable that came with Wiim.

Will keep monitoring and report back.

Thanks for your answer.
