WiiM Vibelink Amp

It's getting silly. WiiM never pointed out a price of GBP 400. Period. Face it.

Okay, for the 21st time, I never said they did.

I said they announced $400, and that UK prices are usually 1:1.

That's what I said.

So stop. Take a deep breath. Pause. And read back over the last two pages. And you'll see I've been clear about that on several occasions.

(to break away from the $400/not-$400 silliness...)

Nobody going to comment on Amir's notation that (for his pre-sample unit) he was unable to test Toslink at 192kHz??

Truthfully, I don't know. I just know it's how it seems to pan out.

We've been talking about Topping Power amps. Their latest is the B200. Amazon USA $599, Amazon UK £599.

A popular one here, Fosi Audio V3 monoblocks, Amazon USA $140, Amazon UK £150.
Even with this, since the beginning of this year, the UK has seemed to be the better place to live, but that’s a topic I’ll leave alone…

The guide price in this article was £319.

Yes, it was. And as I've said, if $400 is correct, I'm minded to believe that may be wrong.

However, if $400 is wrong, then all bets are off, agreed.

But as I've said, at £319 it's not particularly competitive. For £300 you can get a pair of Fosi Audio V3 monoblocks, which I believe is probably the most common pairing here, judging from the 'which amp are you pairing with the Ultra' threads.

SINAD Fosi 100 dB, Vibe 88 dB. SNR Fosi 103 dB (5W) 120 dB (full power, Vibe 102 dB (5W) 118 dB (full power). Multitone Fosi 15-18 bits, Vibe 16-17 bits (not much in that one). Power Fosi c.240W, Vibe c.180W.

So my question remains, why pay more for less, unless you want to match with the Ultra, which I don't think it does all that well anyway.

4 - The WiiM costs a lot more than the Topping. At the moment it's twice as much, and even if the price drops from £400 to £300, that's 50% more than the Topping.

No. See above.

I quoted your above statement and I will repeat my reply one more time: Nobody ever hinted at a price tag of GBP 400, though. ;)

The biggest nitpicker of them all shouldn't be too surprised when someone nitpicks him.

Have they even announced $400 though?

I won't repeat myself yet again. If you want to ignore everything I've offered, that's up to you.

Hi Team,

We appreciate your patience and understanding. Due to media embargo requirements, we’re unable to share further details now. However, we can provide more information in just one more week. As for the product price, please note that the previously announced figures are incorrect. Stay tuned for the official details soon!

Ah, here it is.

The main price came from an article in What Hi-Fi, who said it was based on a 'guide price' they'd received from WiiM.

So either the WiiM rep on the floor fluffed his lines, the reporter is deaf, or WiiM have re-calibrated.

Question? Or statement? Sorry, I am not able to grasp this response.

Let's just say I specifically voted against the new...regime.

My appoligies for a little Yorkshire slang.

Where I'm from "happen" (with the 'h' dropped from the front) means "happen it be", usually used to mean "yes it is" or "yes I agree".

If I were American I'd probably have said "WORD!" ;)

Thanks--my Google-fu was not strong enough to dig up this colloquial usage of, "happen," though I knew it was that, I lacked the context.

Cheers...
