Assuming amazon listing isn't wrong...
  • Pure Analog Input (no ADC conversion) - For analog purists, the direct analog input bypasses Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC), preserving the purest, most natural sound.
Wiim page basically says the same too.
I wonder why it "bypasses Analog-to-Digital Conversion". Surely there isn't an ADC at all.

That also implies that the volume control is analog. So wonder how the remote will work? Motor driven pot or as part of the input to the class D amplifier?

It doesn’t have a remote afaics

Edit: product description says “Controls: Volume knob, input select, and power on/off“

Any remote might just change inputs. It could be a motor driven pot. I had one on an Arcam briefly. I took it back after the volume pot increased to maximum with no input from me 🤣

I don't see any mention of a remote control. So I guess you would set the Vibelink amps volume at MAX and use the Ultra's variable analog output for remote control volume levels, which is what I am doing wit the Fosi V3 mono amps: using the Ultra as a preamp.

Package Contents

Use Guider *1
Power Cable *1
RCA Cable *1
Optical Cable *1
Banana Plugs *4

It's showing with a remote on some of the pictures. Maybe just a new Ultra remote?
Just a new remote I’d guess, but yes it’s potentially misleading to show it alongside a new product that doesn’t appear to support a remote. If it did support one, I’m sure the product description and contents would have shown that.

Looks like an interesting product. Would it be a suitable upgrade for my Fosi amp (assuming the price is affordable in Australia), and if so, what would be the recommended connection to it from the WiiM Pro Plus? Line in, Optical or Coax?

I'd guess optical or coax as the Vibelink has an arguably "better" DAC, but as usual, try them all and let your ears decide

If you are still using the same Fosi amp as before, the Vibelink would be an upgrade, but honestly I am not sure if would hear a difference.

Also, I personally would expect a digital connection to the Vibelink with a more powerful DAC, but you can compare all connections and decide 🙂

It’s more of an integrated amp or a, “power DAC.”
WiiM - being the Amazon.com seller - clearly say otherwise: "This device is a pure power amplifier ..."
That's why attached the screenshot. :)

The term "power DAC" is already taken by those marketing digitally controlled class D amplifiers with no intermediate analogue step. The Vibelink Amp does convert the incoming digital signal to analogue prior to feeding it into the class D amp chip.

Peachtree GAN 1? Or VTV’s amp based on the same internals?
