Hi ,
I have been in DIY audio for many years .

Device I have search online for many years but none existence

Features request :
Input : same as any wiim streamer which we love
Processing : active crossover (high/low pass), time alignment/gain, dynamic volume (adjust loudness curve based on volume )
Analog Output : At least 4 ch for 2 way crossover + sub
Digital Output : 2 x spdif (active crossover ) for external DAC

Improvement suggestions Wiim pro plus
hybrid output : analog for (low ) , spdif (high pass) , vice versa.
Stereo Sub turn into active crossover for low pass

Thank you

I'll second the .2 output for subwoofers. If you set the crossover frequency relatively high, (it goes up to 250 Hz in existing products) you really need stereo sub outputs.

In my case I use a Wiim Amp Pro with Quad electrostatic speakers. The crossover frequency needs to be set pretty high to keep the lowest octaves out of the Quads so they can play louder while still maintaining low distortion. I have the crossover set to 120 Hz now, and with some music the bass sounds like it is coming from the subwoofer. If I turn the crossover frequency much lower, I lose the benefit of having the crossover built into the amp. I would think that the same would be true for a lot of bookshelf speakers.

Your best bet is likely to be to use a digital output from your WiiM to a miniDSP Flex. I was running a 2.2.1 setup (two standmounts, two subwoofers as upper-bass stereo bandpass with a single large ported sub for the subbass) by outputting from the WiiM Ultra to a miniDSP Flex (digital output model w/DIRAC Live license) with the DAC for the speakers attached to the first output and then a second miniDSP Flex (RCA model) attached to the second output of the first miniDSP, which then fed the two sealed subs in stereo from the first output and the large ported sub from the second output. I used REW to time-align all five speakers and DIRAC Live to smooth out the total response.
