AIFF files won't play with JRiver Media Center

JRiver software plays every file type to the WiiM Ultra except .AIF.

Just to test the file, I sent it to the WiiM using different software (Elmedia) and it works fine. I posted the issue on JRiver and got the following request:

"You might ask WiiM for clarification (if they support AIFF on their Ultra, and if they do ask if they support it over DLNA) just in case files are being silently converted (e.g. to WAV) in the background in Elmedia"

I just tried an AIFF file and it played fine from JRiver via DLNA.

Also, I used the WiiM APP browse to find the AIF file on my NAS server and it played fine also on the Ultra using Home Music Share.

So the issue is with AIF files from JRiver via DLNA.

What happens? Does JRiver say it is playing and nothing comes out of the Wiim?

Check the advanced options under the DLNA server configuration setup. Is aiff being converted to something else? Set it to Original Format and see if that works.

It was on "Original" ...and I get the following error. The WiiM never gets the file.....

Is that for just aiff or is it for all file types? It sounds like it is just aiff.

Do you have anything set in DSP Studio?

Can you connect from the Wiim to JRiver through Home Music Share and play that way?

I just looked at my setup and I have it set to Specified Output Format and PCM 24 Bit. I do not remember why but I do remember making that change. You might try that.

I also have settings in DSP Studio to downsample everything about 192 KHz to either 176 or 192 KHz, whichever is an integer multiple.

186 or 176?
