Any harm with leaving the Ultra on 24/7?

Most people have devices that are required to run 24/7 for example external CCTV, Alarms, Fridges and Freezers, electric controls for HVAC and many more.

It's impractical to change this so time is better spent in investing in greener power generation. It doesn't matter how much you use if it's come from a green source.

I don't approach it from a "green" perspective. Many devices have a power switch (streamers, DACs, amplifiers). This could have been applied here too (and then the greens would be happy too). But it has happened more than once that Tidal Connect for some reason doesn't connect on the Ultra, especially when activated from sleep mode... In such cases, I reboot in vain. I also have to disconnect the power. It's not a good thing to pull the cable.. Ok, I understand, the 50 cent switch is also money.. So you're left with a power socket with a switch.

At least I own a lot of devices without power switches - AVR, Echo speaker, Wi-Fi router, etc. Basically, I believe that devices whose main function is to be constantly connected to a network often do not have a power switch. In this regard, I'm sure that the WiiM is neither unusual nor a drawback.

I also believe that electricity is there for the convenience of mankind in the first place. Personally, I am more concerned about next month's bill than about environmental problem. 😂

Saving electricity consumption at home is for my own sake, but it results in an environmental problem. 😄

My Pro and the DAC are the devices with the least usage time and my only devices without a hard switch. My solution (an internet picture, the plugs are hidden) is for sure no high-end and may cause much distortion and noise. For streaming and in a separate room I don't really care, and I do not want to have them powered on more than necessary. Beside that, a regularly new start for software based devices might be no bad idea.

,,So you're left with a power socket with a switch.,,That's it, no big deal.

My understanding is that, at least for some electronic equipment, the initial inrush of current when it's turned on causes more stress than just leaving it on. Don't know if that applies here.
