Ongoing Beta Beta Test: Qobuz Connect

Just received this email this morning. I will setup further when I get home from work.
Ditto. Unfortunately, only the IOS beta app is available so far, not the MacOS desktop application. And my mobile device is an Android, so I'm hoping the Mac beta shows up soon.

I have the mac app the beta page has a link to it
Ah, OK. For some reason I thought testing the MacOS beta app would also require some kind of verification through TestFlight.

It's all academic, though, since none of my WiiM devices have been whitelisted yet.

I've been corresponding with the QC beta folks at Qobuz. To clarify the situation raised earlier by some questions, it looks like Qobuz has been very quickly whitelisting WiiM devices to be used by QC beta testers, communicated such to WiiM, and now it's up to the latter to push beta firmware to those devices. Qobuz suggested reaching out to WiiM if said firmware has not been pushed by EOW. So shouldn't be too long now.

If the WiiM implementation works as well as the mobile or desktop app this will be a real game changer. It is very much in the style of Spotify connect only with better queue management

Keep your fingers crossed. By the way, I and a few others -- maybe you too? -- got emails from Qobuz suggesting that only the WiiM Pro was cleared for testing. However, the Qobuz QC beta rep indicated that all WiiM devices except the Mini will be certified. So I went ahead and submitted info for all my devices to Qobuz for whitelisting.

I registered one of my Pros as I don't mind one of them being problematic on the beta so left my amp off for now

More news: the Android QC beta app is available. I don't want to post the link here, but suggested the QC beta coordinator email the test user base with that info. Just installed and haven't tested controlling a separate Qobuz player yet, but will soon.

Thanks for the info. This explains why I didn’t get selected, as an Ultra owner.

iOS app now received and I can control my deskstop from it and indeed control ios from the desktop.WiiM device not yet on beta so hopefully soon but actually my desktop/dac go into a wiim so I can now send it to all rooms and control from any device.
Where are you seeing the interface in the IOS app to control your desktop? And vice versa? Although my Mac (running QC beta) and Android phone (ditto) are on the same VLAN, I'm not seeing any indication the other control application exists. I have the feeling something needs to be enabled, but don't know what or where.

Mine shows same place you would change to a Chrome or Airplay device etc. Working so well I can switch back and forth between devices with ease.

Did anyone receive an invite with code for the Test Flight app?

I did get the TestFlight email this morning at 10:15am, I filled out the Qobuz form last night after I got home from work.

I didn't like the fact Qobuz wanted my unit's serial number, I don't see why Qobuz needs that when they are already getting the unit's MAC address, and I agree there should have been some immediate email confirmation sent to me indicating successful submission of the form.

I too had an error in the original Qobuz email invite indicating they thought I have a WiiM Pro model as others here have stated, when my original submission to WiiM indicated I have an Ultra, and a Pro Plus. No big deal there as I was asked all over again by Qobuz which model(s) I have and what their MAC addresses are, but an error all the same.

OK, I'm not seeing that at all. I get to report my first bug!

ETA: Reported. I can't tell whether either device running beta software is advertising itself as a QC endpoint or not, and don't know what type of packets I would look for. Several variables could be at play. And while there's an interface to save an activity report in the Mac app, I don't see one in the Android app.

Yeah, we'll be adding more people over time as well in a couple waves. So if anyone is interested, please feel free to sign up and we'll try to get you added in!
Not sure why WiiM is asking for the MAC address and Serial Number of my Benchmark DAC3 HGC. It isn’t a network device; no MAC address available. I let them know in the MAC address field.
