Ongoing Beta Beta Test: Qobuz Connect

I submitted the serial number on the sticker and was accepted so it should be fine. Maybe they need it to confirm the product type as the welcome email i received mentioned wiim pro plus
interesting, my welcome email just mentioned the WiiM Pro instead of the Plus
i'm waiting for that confirmation email that my WiiM Pro Plus has been approved for use with QC

So in WHA, if you go into Devices, Settings on your Pro Plus, Device Info, and tap Join Beta Testing, is there Qobuz Connect firmware available?

Anyone else had their iOS Qobuz beta in TestFlight flagged with the message “the developer removed you from the test programme”, hence preventing any further beta updates?

yes there is, see screenshot.View attachment 19768
Thanks. I thought the Pro Plus was one of the devices that had QC beta firmware, but I don't have one so couldn't confirm (there are still a few WiiM devices that don't yet). Assuming you have that firmware installed, Qobuz needs to whitelist that device on their cloud, and, if you're on Android, your Play Store ID needs to be configured to get the current Qconnect beta Qobuz app. Then everything should automagically work.

Or download the desktop/laptop version for Windows or MacOS.

Finally got into the beta with this latest wave of invites... 🎉

Been testing over the weekend with my WiiM Pro + mini multiroom setup controlling connect from Windows 11 and android devices... still waiting for my testflight invite for iOS.

All the functionality you'd expect just worked straight away with no bugs encountered so far! 👌 Including synchronized multiroom playback using the pro + WiiM grouped. I guess I can't use just the mini since it doesn't have a connect beta firmware? 🤔

In fact the overall experience has far exceeded my expectations... And dare is say - handily beats both spotify and tidal in terms of functionality and responsiveness... 🤯

Particularly - it's really cool how android clients seem to be persistently available as connect endpoints even long after they've entered standby.. (Almost works as a cool "find my phone" feature - since it works even when the device is on silent and the volume can be controlled within the app!)

Full marks for this - hope it's not just a happy accident and this feature is here to stay, because it also means that any old android device collecting dust somewhere could easily be used as cheap + easy connect endpoint in a pinch! We just need the qobuz android TV app now... 😜

Excellent work all around. 👏 Imo the WiiM implementation of Q connect is pretty much ready for primetime.

It's been a long time coming but hats off to the team's involved. Will update in this thread if I find any bugs... 🐛

The Mini simply lacks the hardware capacity to support the Qobuz Connect SDK and functionality, and so will never support QC as a renderer. WiiM confirmed that earlier in this topic. I guess it's possible it could operate as a slave to a QC-capable master in a multiroom group, but I can't confirm that personally since I don't own a Mini.

Oh, ok, thanks for clarifying future QC support on the mini. That's not a big deal for me I guess... might eventually get another pro if I need that. 🤔

Already confirmed that multiroom grouped playback is working fine with a mini as a slave in my post above.

It seems that the TestFlight code setup takes a while. Reiterate that the MacOS version works well.

Re multiroom grouping… that limits hi-res streams to what? 48kHz? Implying transcoding.

Oh, and I just wanted to add that I am unable to access the "connect beta" forum on club qobuz yet. Unable to directly submit feedback there 😥

So maybe - same with the iOS testflight, it might take a couple of more days?! But I hope the Qobuz team are monitoring this forum so I can keep posting my usage reports here!!

i haven't received the confirmation email yet. i received the welcome email this past friday and submitted the webform with the relevant data shortly after.
i'm on Android, been using the regular latest few betas.
the download link for the qconnect Android app i've still yet to receive.
i did already upgrade the Pro Plus to the qconnect beta firmware in the meantime

and as soon as i sent this, there was an update for qobuz app on the playstore which turned out to be the qconnect-beta07
installed it, my Pro Plus available as an QC endpoint and i've just started streaming a variety of sources to it.
just did 'don't know why by norah jones ' which is a 24/192 track and it played without a hitch

I’ve just joined the beta with my Wiim Pro Plus.
I can see my device as target and play tracks both from the Qobuz beta Windows app and the Qobuz beta Android app.
I noticed that I can skip tracks from the Wiim Home App, but I wonder why in the Wiim Home App the queue sent by the Qobuz app is not displayed.
