Ongoing Beta Beta Test: Qobuz Connect

Suspect the issues are more WiiM end than Qobuz as my Marantz amp is rock solid with the beta Qobuz app

I deleted the app and reinstalled but still nothing. Can’t connect to my amp from my iPhone 13 mini. So odd. It worked early yesterday morning even though I wasn’t impressed with the quality. I’m going to give this beta program a couple more days.

Hello. I have the Wiim Pro and a Samsung A8 tablet with Android. I am a beta tester of Qobuz connect, and I have everything installed with the latest versions, both in Wiim Home and in Qobuz Beta, but from this last app I can't see my Wiim Pro.What's wrong?Regards.

What's the date of the firmware on your Pro?

Hi.
20241223
firmware 4.8.639532
Some things to try:
  • Confirm all your devices are on the same subnet/VLAN, and if possible locked to the same AP (if both are wireless).
  • Give them all static IP addresses (this includes your tablet).
  • Shut down and reboot the Pro and your tablet after any changes.
  • If you have a Mac or Windows machine in the house, DL and install the Qobuz desktop app to test connectivity with the other devices (yep, put 'em on the same subnet).

Thank you for your reply and operations to perform but I have Tidal and I use the Tidal Connect feature and it has always worked fine from the beginning, I know that Qobuz is a beta feature but my Wiim Pro was updated to the latest version that allows its use as Tidal connect and my tablet was also updated to its android version. I don't know how to use Qobuz connect if I can't see my Wiim Pro device from my tablet.

I use Tidal Connect as well, and of course while not always flawless, it's a more mature product, having been GA longer. But on the same tracks, I hear a layer of processing with Tidal that I don't hear with Qobuz, so I fervently hope the latter -- and its CE partners -- can debug any issues found in this phase of the development and release cycle.

If you have a phone, Android or Apple, it would be worthwhile installing the beta app and checking to see if your Pro is visible to Qobuz. Yours is the first report I've seen that a streaming device that should be visible is invisible. All the other reported problems are around establishing a firm connection with the target device (which, by the way, is the same problem I've experienced trying to connect with my Ultra via Google Cast...which is years more mature than Tidal Connect).

The process for installing the iOS beta app is documented on the Qobuz Connect Welcome page. Did that not work for you?
Hi.
Yes, on my iPhone the Qobuz Beta works perfectly and I can choose the Wiim Pro device, but on my Android tablet it remains invisible.

Is there a beta app version for Android that you perhaps haven’t installed?

Hello. If you read a little further up you will see that I have the Android version of Qobuz beta installed and that the Wiimhome app is updated to support this version of Qobuz.

I held my tongue that it could be a Samsung issue, but maybe it is (Samsung does some, um...interesting things with their Android implementations). Please go to the Qobuz Qconnect feedback site and give them the details. It may be something they can work around...as so many other software developers have had to. Make sure you give them the Androiid version/build your tablet's on.

My earlier suggestions hold, though. If you can ensure your tablet and WiiM devices are on the 5kHz frequency band, the same subnet, and same AP, it'll remove some of the variables that could be causing the problem. It's extremely odd that the device isn't even visible to Qobuz at all. Can the app even see it as a Google Cast endpoint?? If not, and if your iPhone is on the same frequency/subnet as your tablet, I'd strongly suspect something is wrong with your tablet.

When you have the Qobuz Qconnect beta app running on your iPhone, does it show up as a Connect endpoint on your tablet (it may be identified as a Network device), or vice versa? Is the beta app version running on your tablet Qconnect-beta01 or Qconnect-beta02 (you can find this under Settings - Help/Contact).

Hi.
I think the beta version Is the beta 02 because is the second update. The version inside Qobuz beta es 8.4.0.1

When you go to Settings-Help/Contact, what verbiage does the Version line display?

I just found the solution to my problem of no connection available to Wiim Pro from Qobuz Connect Beta.
It turns out that I activated the Google Chromecast Audio function within the Wiim Home app and voilá, I can now see my Wiim Pro device from the Qobuz beta app and thus be able to listen to music controlled from it.
