Change power cord to the Ultra

You know the transformer equation though.
Bmax = V / (4.44 f N A) …… in Tesla
How relevant is this to a switching mode power supply? And how does physical size translate to efficiency?

BTW: Any formula including "magical numbers" with SI units is questionable.

This is for a mains frequency transformer. I was only suggesting one reason why a 60Hz mains network might be more efficient than a 50Hz one. More efficient in terms of cost at least. The 4.44 isn't really magical just square root of 2 multiplied by Pi. Pi always turns up in these equations 😃

I was using the standard 0.75mm²x2 18 AWG cable, and then I connected the “QED Qonduit P-MC performance” 16awg power cable using a C14 to C7 adapter. The change in sound was noticeable. The loose bass became firmer, and the density increased.

I am using the Wiim Ultra as the source and utilizing the USB output to connect to the Audiolab 8300CDQ as the DAC. It's worth trying with affordable cables.

Is the Ultra just plug and play for you with the 8300cdq via usb? I briefly plugged my ultra into mine and it didn't work, so just why back to running it into my topping e70.

Ignore that, just tried it again out of curiosity and it worked fine. I must have been having brain issues when I first tried 😁

Wait, I need a "coffin" in my power conditioner for it to really work? Maybe it's Vlad Dracula still lying in there? Or at least parts of his left ear?

OTOH, maybe any gold hamster that's been run over will do, as long as it's just potted in Shunyata "Liquid Diamond"®, so it cannot be reverse engineered?

Thanks for that! 😂

Its a class II device, dont need any ground at AC power inlet.

Very common in japanese products like Denon, Yamaha , Onkyo and such….
The major advantage with double insulated power supplies using 2 prong power cords in audio equipment is elimination ground loops.

Amp is Onkyo A-9110 with RME ADI-2 DAC and Sony SS-CS5 speakers
Have you tried listening with headphones from the DAC? I wonder if that would be more revealing.

All a better power cable does is lower the noise floor. So it just sounds darker, or more clean.

I noticed a change straight away when changing the wiim power cable and also putting a ferret core on the TV power cable produced a cleaner picture.
