Crossfade

Under what conditions?
e.g. only if streaming from within the wiim app?
tbh, I've not tried it myself!
At the beginning / end of the stream, so gapless playback is not affected. Should work with any service although I've tested it only over DLNA.

Can you please define “stream”?
Does it mean “without resolution change”?
Fade-in can happen when you start the playback manually. And fade-out can happen when you pause the playback manually or manually skip to another song. Both effects can happen during playback of the queue when audio resolution changes.

Quick example of the current fade behavior when fade effects are enabled:

Fade-in after I started the playback manually (stream has started) and fade-out after the pause (stream has ended).

Hi, hope it's OK to jump in here. I have it set but I always have these long gaps between songs, am I doing something wrong? I am accessing my locally stored files on my laptop via Home Music Share and using the WiiM Desktop App and controlling via the WiiM Home App.

Thanks :)

I don’t see this as anything to do with shortening the gaps between tracks. As advised elsewhere, try using Lyrion or some other software that can provide a crossfade function, and submit a ticket to WiiM to see if it’s something they can implement.
