I have just started seeing this unhelpful popup every time I open Gmail. No idea what it means and It seems I can still receive and read emails after hitting "cancel".

I couldn't find Google Play Services when I looked last night.

Just found it. If I uninstall the updates I get this instead

Now I only see it when I access my Yahoo and Virginmedia email accounts via Gmail. My actual Gmail account no longer has the popup.Read this

Apart from that it seems to work OK.
Just got a reply to my 1 star review on the play store and Google are aware of the issue and investigating a fix.Could you try deleting data from the Google service again?
You may need to re-install the Gmail app.
The submission to Google Help suggests that older IMAP email accounts are affected.
but I honestly not sure...
