Google cast working but no voice control

Hi all,

I've got a WiiM ultra setup in Google home. The cast is working fine when I want to cast a song from Tidal or Spotify. However, the voice command doesn't work. When I ask to play something on <name wiim>, it says something like 'Okay, I will play ... on <name wiim>'. Followed by 'oops, something went wrong'.

I'm at my wits end and would really like for this to work as I use it a lot. I've tried resetting it, changing the name, putting it in it's own Google home room. Nothing worked. My language is Dutch (Netherlands) so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Support from WiiM hasn't been helpful and said it should work. I don't know if the language has anything to do with it. When I asked if they support the Dutch language, they say that they can't influence the language support.

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

To further eloborate on resetting it, I mean both a reset and factory reset. Multiple times removed it from Google home and re-added it.

But my experience is the same as yours. Don't think it's a language issue as mine is in English.

There are also no app actions on the Wiim Home app you can trigger with Google home routines which is also pretty lame. Even if Google assistant couldn't trigger casing, they could add some app actions via the app and then we could trigger routines through that.

No device actions from google Home either, doesn't even support play/pause. Only volume control

I've had contact with Google and WiiM support. Apparently the google cast version for WiiM was behind. 2 months ago WiiM support indicated that they are going to update it.
