Hello, new owner of an LG 50qned86 TV, I can't get the sound on my speakers via the HDMI ARC of my WIIM AMP. Can you help me? Thank you. Alban

Are you definitely using an hdmi arc port on your tv? Try setting the tv audio output to stereo PCM to see if that helps, and check if your tv has particular volume settings for its digital outputs

I'm going to replace the HDMI cable, but I'm pessimistic.

I think that the cable is good but you don't know if it is hidden or there is no incompatibility of material
Well, yes, but did you disable eARC on the TV (and only enable ARC) as you should?

Try the cable that comes with the Amp. Check your TV manual which HDMI input supports ARC. Disable eARC at the TV if possible. Switch digital output format to PCM. Enable HDMI-autosensing in the Amp for TV input.

That is the correct way, since the Wiim Ultra/Amp only supports ARC (not eARC) you need to switch to ARC, and since the Wiim does not support all the different multichannel codecs you need to change mode to "PCM".
Then either restart the Wiim and/or the TV and they should handshake.

This works on my Wiim Ultra via HDMI connected to my LG 55" GX OLED (2023 model)

Qu’est-ce que veut dire ULTRA???
The WiiM Amp, WiiM Amp Pro and WiiM Ultra are different products but are equal in that they all support HDMI ARC (but not eARC).

The WiiM Amp Pro and WiiM Ultra do support the (relatively old) original Dolby Digital (AC-3) multi-channel format, but your WiiM Amp does not. It's therefore very important that you configure your TVs ARC output as PCM (Pulse Code Modulation), which is an uncompressed 2 channel format.

The HDMI cable is important. Old cables don't support the special ARC wires.
Yes should be 1.4 compliant at least:

  • HDMI ARC, introduced with HDMI 1.4, streamlines AV connections by enabling two-way audio with a single cable.
  • HDMI ARC functionality requires cables and devices compatible with HDMI 1.4 or higher; no special cables are needed.

I have a LG C2, Wiim Ultra, use the supplied HDMI cable, use ARC and PCM.
But every time I want to watch anything I have to toggle play on the Wiim remote and the Wiim starts playing. If I pause a movie on the TV and restart it after a minute, I have to toggle play again on the Wiim remote. If I use my old Citation AMP it works OK.

Solved
I have a Wiim Ultra and an LG C2 TV and every time I pause a program for more than 2 minutes, I have to manually activate the Wiim again, which is in pause mode. This also happens if the sound is gone for more than 2 minutes in the current program. This error does not occur if I use a Yamaha AVR or a Citation Amp.
The problem is solved.
Wiim is very sensitive when it comes to HDMI cables. Tried 4 different cables and the only one that worked flawlessly is the included cable. The other cables are not old, but something must be different. If you look at the Wiim Ultra's display, it switches to pause mode after 2 minutes, but with the original cable connected, it switches back immediately. This does not happen with the other cables. There is no standby activated in the menu.
