I would imagine a larger, more powerful, and better speaker to cost more than a smaller one from the same company.
The previous comments suggested this would be priced below the A10, instead of being priced above it.

There’s not a lot in it with the A10, as far as I can see. Not checked for a while.

The A10 wasn't manufactured by WiiM though.

There’s not a lot in it with the A10, as far as I can see. Not checked for a while.

Actually, more than I remembered. A10 has a 3" woofer, WiiM 4". A10 is c.50W, WiiM 100W.

I don't believe it will be affordable for me in Australia. The WiiM Sub Pro is selling here for AUD$899!

Fearful of the price of the WiiM Sound here, and given its so far non appearance, I gave up waiting and purchased a WiiM Mini and an Echo 4th Generation Speaker to achieve a similar solution the WiiM Sound would have offered. Because I bought during the recent Prime Sales, I got both items for less than AUD$165, delivered. Bargain!

Translating that price to pounds, it is only £8 more in Australia as its £429 in the UK, which, for what this sub offers, I actually don't think it's badly priced. We were never going to get what it cost in America

That could very well be the case. My comment was in relation to its affordability for myself personally. Regrettably, spending close to a thousand dollars is not something I can easily manage, but I understand others may have more fortunate circumstances where such an outlay for a non essential item is more achievable. Thankfully there are suitable alternatives that are more in tune with my budget.

Stores in New Zealand are intimating end of this month, but it's anyone's guess really. Still nothing official from WiiM unfortunately.

Probably because it was originally mooted some months ago to be coming out in q3. I’m not aware of any other announcement beyond that

I've got a couple spots for them picked out as rear surround speakers with an Amp Ultra run 5.1 (using a C10 as center channel). And I'm putting one in my bedroom as a clock, alarm, and nighttime audiobook player.

I had been hoping it'd be earlier. My daughter's birthday is on 27th October, so it's almost certainly not going to be available in the UK before then.

However, she's already getting a fair whack off me for her birthday, so if I giver her this a month later there's nothing lost, and a nice extra surprise.

Usage will be in her bedroom. She has a dinky little Bluetooth speaker which she's had since she was very young; it's little more than a toy. This will be a nice 'grown up' upgrade.

My primary target would be to use a pair to replace my Vanatoo active minimonitors in the master bedroom, and combine them with the Sub Pro that's currently providing bass support for the Vanatoos. That could be a very compelling setup with RoomFit, given that the Sound and the Sub components are very likely well-tuned with each other.

I'm very curious how they'll compare overall with the Vanatoos, given the latter punch well above their weight in terms of listening quality.
