I have not read the whole thread, so oops if this question has been answered.
I already own a Wiim Amp Ultra, that powers (with speaker cables) two main front speakers. Would it be possible to add a single Wiim sound behind my seating position, and use it as a surround speaker using the Wiim amp Ultra's bluetooth?
It will not use Bluetooth but your local network. And it will need two surround speakers.

Thank you!

JD has a say, of course. Thought one or another would be interested in reading it. I like his stuff, you do not have to. So please do not shoot the messenger. Quite sure at least the LMS guys will have a correction. 😉

He could just have fired up the Qobuz app and checked that the Sound supported Qobuz Connect, and similarly used the WiiM app to see if Roon Ready appeared… wee bit sloppy tbh

As I wrote. Do not shoot the messenger 😉. He most likely COULD do a lot.

Actually on re-reading his blog, it was based on press releases not actual devices. My bad as the youngsters say ;)
I think it is consensus that these days he and the handful of usual subjects as multiplikators have an immense impact on success or fail of products like hifi stuff, even more in this budget class. Far more as a forum like this one. Appreciate it or not, companies and the customers seem to live well with the situation. So what?

All the more important that press releases and product leaflets are complete, comprehensive and CORRECT, which isn‘t always the case.

I was educated a few days ago that it fells under normal "marketing speech" and they do it all. 😉

I'm hoping the screen-less 'lite' version appears before Christmas, but it's getting pretty close.

Any ideas @RyanWithWiiM ?
I just shared an update on the WiiM Sound Launch, the USA launch is going to be delayed but the rest of the world will be seeing it soon! No news on the rumored but unannounced screen less version.

Shame it isn't battery powered. I haven't seen a single picture of it tethered to a mains socket.
There's clearly a cable in the image with the books on the Amazon website, the contents description lists a power cable and it's described as AC powered. Anyway not showing cables is often the case in hifi publicity material as they don't want the image to look cluttered and they guess we all know what a cable looks like ;)

But you already knew that ;)

Your post left me with the impression that you provided a more detailed update elsewhere. If so, where might that be?

Just noticed that Kanto Audio has a pair of stands that seem perfect for the Wiim sounds. The SLH line.
I imagine other brands have some as well.

Quite sure this is discussed before. The idea of looking on a stereo pair of two Sounds with each a display is at least a bit disturbing for me. Not to say ridiculous. The reason wanting a Sound without pictures is not price related. If the sonic performance is at least as good as my aged Sonos speakers, such devices will get for sure a go from me. Refused to go Revox or Denon until today. Subjective and egocentric, of course. But I do not feel alone here.
Will get a pair as soon as they are available. If there is a feature of totally and permanently switching off the screen in daily usage it should be fine
How is it disturbing? I am sure it can be turned off if needs be. I don't see it as ridiculous at all as many people might not use for movies or connected to a WiiM Amp etc. But might use it as a standalone product in a kitchen or bedroom. As a person who has an echo spot that is really handy for showing what is playing etc. I get how it wouldn't be useful if you a distance away.

I wrote it above. It is subjective and already two are ordered. But I personally would prefer a hypothetical Sound Lite without screen. Have my Ultra ALTHOUGH it has a screen, not because it has one. The rest of the toy is brilliant, the screen not.

Different strokes for Different folks I guess.
