There are also some of us who prefer to cut the crossover higher than 80Hz, especially those of us with standmounts instead of full floorstanders; in those scenarios, we definitely want stereo subs, one at the base of each speaker and crossed over in the 100-160Hz range.

These discussions question a lot the brutality or not of the filtering slopes, the impact in phase etc.
;-)

So I assume, it can play perfectly in sync with a Ultra connected to its own poweramp & speakers?

But how to determine if I really need this... 😅

My Lintons have 8 inch drivers and a lot of oomph already.

(there is already a strong bias there... more classic with small 2voices..)

invites you to observe a piano playing with a lot of energy at 42Hz "fa" and to observe its harmonic structure... ;-) and this is only talking about a single note... imagine a chord of low notes etc...
;-)
Most of those harmonics will not be handled by the sub. Not sure what point you are making.

f1 f2 f3 f4 depending on the choices and slopes adopted will be...
Don't forget that the first harmonic (see the second and third) are generally very high...

piano at left...sub at right? ;-)

Again, it is a question of use-case and priorities.
For me personally bass without resonances and nulls trumps any potential spatial effects in low bass, but people are free to feel differently. :)

Also bass below 80Hz or so is normally mixed as mono even for recordings of pianos 🙂

Please notice that I didn't make any such claim in my posts. :)

Yes, I suspect there aren't that many recordings with appreciable stereo content below 80Hz
but 80hz..it's very high.... hihi in acoustic music from like 27/28hz it's good to consider a certain spatialization that exists in real life.. see large symphony orchestra etc..... ;-)

Sorry, but I have a feeling that you and I are not talking about the same thing.

I only said that I don't believe many commercial recordings have significant stereo content below 80Hz.
Whether or nor they *should* contain it is a different topic that I would like to avoid discussing here. 😜

I am wondering if there are screw holes for wall mounting or not... 🤔

Edit;
This is a question for WiiM Sound...

in this it is well attached to cultural approaches, "expertise", in the sense of cognitive sciences and not to """" audibility thresholds in the general population""""
;-)

(
"""""Something tells me you have a nose? But you think you smell like a professional perfumer's nose?
And worse, the subject of music is even more complicated ;-)
