Just can't get Spotify Connect to 'see' my Ultra (Pro+ is OK)

It's already in the same house, connected to the same network (edit: specifically the same MAC AP). Now you want me to connect it to the same amp--like it's going to make a difference.
No, I was wanting you to connect it to the same network segment that has the Pro Plus on it as the indications are that it might be a router problem passing mDNS/discovery packets between segments.

Hope you have better luck with Qobuz :)

I forgot to update this.
Final:
Spotify Connect will only connect to my Ultra via Chromecast. Lower quality, reduced functions.
After weeks trying every suggestion (including uninstall) on 2 different Ultras my WHA no longer knew my neglected basement Pro+ existed.
Today I spent some time in that room and set up the Pro as if it were new.
It immediately connected to the app with no fuss, no Chromecast. I just can't accept that these 2 players use the same circuit & programming to connect with Spotify.
Whatever. I'll just accept that in certain situations the Ultra has a blindspot for Spotify.

I'm preferring Qobuz in all respects except cost now.

Spotify is at best 320kbps lossy while Chromecast supports up to lossless 24/48 currently on the Ultra, so I don’t understand why you think using Chromecast is lower quality. Similarly, the functionality of the Spotify app shouldn’t be greatly impacted either

Hi guy48065,

Could you please send us a feedback ticket through the WiiM Home App? Our engineering team will investigate the issue right away. Thank you for your help!

Hasn't your team been working on this in the month since my previous tickets?

Been there, done that.
As already detailed in thread.
Since you've got so much time on your hands why not just do what WiiM ask you to do? They want to see what's going on with your device right now, with the current firmware and settings, not how many tickets you have opened in the past.

There are now 89 posts in this thread detailing all the hoops I've jumped thru trying to get these 2 apps to see each other.
Spotify AND WiiM support have been involved from the start. The issue remains Unresolved.

So you prefer to remain stubborn and don't share your device's logs with WiiM? It's your choice. They offered their help.

YOU can catch up in this thread and see that they did review the logs & make suggestions.

So you know that there's nothing new to be found in the logs right now? How did you check? What's the advantage of discussing on the forum instead of simply providing feedback once again?

You're simply not helping your own case.

I just bought one of these devices yesterday and I'm unable to get Spotify to connect either, all the other apps and devices work on the device except Spotify, I'm able to connect to Spotify on my Apple TV device and on my Mac and on my other devices within the house and on my phone, but when I tried to connect to Spotify using the Wiim ultra the device just doesn't get seen on the network anywhere, looking in the logs of my router it doesn't seem to be any attempt to connect by the device to Spotify. There's nothing going out or coming in that says anything about the device attempting any form of connection. I'm tempted to return this device as I've only had it for 48 hours and exchange it for another because it seems very long winded process that some people have gone through and still not had a decent result and I'm suspecting that there's an issue with this device and I should just return it and try another one.

Do you mean that your phone and the WiiM device are on the same network, and the WiiM device does not show up on the device connection screen in the Spotify app?

It's not impossible you received a faulty device, of course, even if this is was a surprisingly specific defect.

Just for the sake of completeness: It's always Spotify (Connect) initiating the connection to a Spotify Connect enabled device, never the other way around. So, I side the Spotify app you do see e.g. your Apple TV as a streaming target, but not the Ultra? Not at all? It should be available as both, a Spotify Connect client and a Chromecast client (tapping the 3-dot-menu to the right of the Ultra, as long as it's.shown at all.

You can always start with "sending feedback" through the WiiM Home app, so WiiM can analyse the internal device logs for errors. It costs you nothing but a little extra time, in case you have to exchange the unit anyway.

I don't think the WiiM devices can be defective if the phone can connect to it. The Spotify Connect/Chromecast is pure software.

If you don't see Spotify as a Chromecast device (and the Chromecast is enabled on WiiM) it's probably an network issue.

It is not fully clear on what device you don't see Spotify connect, so maybe I'm wrong?

I feel your pain.
I had Spotify support and WiiM support working on this but neither found a solution.
I bought a 2nd unit but it behaved the same so I returned it.
My Pro connected immediately on the same network in the same house.

Ultimately I could connect using Chromecast as a crutch, but not otherwise (Spotify support assured me once "found" I would be able to connect without Chromecast. Nope.)
Along the way I tried Qobuz and now rarely use Spotify.

I hope you're a tech wiz and find the answer. I gave up.

So I did a DFU restore my iPhone and now it's finding it, must be a bug with iOS.

I checked the logs on my router and there was no mention of any connection being instigated between the phone and the device, logs clearly showed it was connected, I was able to ping the device and the device was responding so I know that it wasn't a problem with the actual device on the network, I always assume that because Apple is so bad at software that it must've been a problem with the iPhone, I then went upstairs and got my old iPhone XR which was running iOS 17.1 that was able to connect straight away, then I decided that the best solution would be to DFU restore the iPhone completely then restored it from a backup on the iCloud and it's working perfectly. iOS is utter garbage and if you're using an iPhone always best to start with the iPhone being the problem because nine times out of 10 it is.
