Since you asked -- If he wants fans to attend in person, what better way to drum up a crowd than to get into the news cycle? Self-banning is a practiced art for him to get noticed.
Tickets were already sold out before he announced that he wouldn't allow it to be broadcast so that isn't it. Tickets might even have been sold out before anyone knew the line up. It wasn't like that in the good old days
