Any opinions on Neil Young's refusal to allow his Glastonbury set to be shown on TV. The last time he appeared he only allowed a few songs to be broadcast. The phrase "Grumpy Old Git" springs to mind 🤷‍♂️

Glastonbury - just another festival of corporate & individual greed & excess. AVOID 😁
You sound just like Neil Young 🤣. It has definitely changed a lot since I went, it wasn't on TV at all in 1993 but it was on the radio. It was also half the size even including the fence jumpers 🤣

A wealthy artist trying to drum up some publicity...he's a rebel for sure. ;)

Publicity? By not appearing on TV? He's done it before, only 5 songs were broadcast in 2009.
Since you asked -- If he wants fans to attend in person, what better way to drum up a crowd than to get into the news cycle? Self-banning is a practiced art for him to get noticed.

Tickets were already sold out before he announced that he wouldn't allow it to be broadcast so that isn't it. Tickets might even have been sold out before anyone knew the line up. It wasn't like that in the good old days 🙂

Well he's 79 years old. Hes on his third wife married to Daryl Hannah. He's worth 200 million. I would say he does what he wants to do. He always has. He has walked out on recording sessions. He has walked out in the middle of tours. Neil has his unique way of thinking. I like his music.

I don’t know if others will have noticed but if you watch an act on iPlayer after the event the SQ is always significantly better than the live broadcast. Aunty is very good at cleaning up the sound.

How does the TV sound compared with the radio sound? Some are only on TV but others are on both.
