Popping/clicking when switching tracks

Yes it is worse.
I get this issue with or without the fade in setting, please file a bug via the app!
English is not my native language, but I will try my best ..
Do you have a sub connected to the wiim amp? In my case when I connected the sub to the sub output via rca cable (streaming from Tidal), the clicking and popping were present ("fade in / fade out was on") , but only through the sub, through the speakers, there was no problem. I solved this by connecting my sub in parallel with the speakers (my sub B&W ASW 608 has also speaker-level inputs). I don't use sub functionality of the amp, so the sub is set to off.

No sub. Issue is when changing tracks via Chromecast YTM which isn't currently gapless.

Same issue here (PCB v5 unit).
Each time a new track starts I heart the "popping/crackling" noise on my Wiim AMP.
This happens when casting directly via Airplay and Chromecast.

Is this normal or does my unit have a defect? I might return it and buy a new one.

Submit a ticket so WiiM can diagnose the issue.

I have this same issue via Chromecast / YouTube Music popping/cracking on two WiiM amps. I reported it to WiiM Support.

Hope they can fix it soon... It's not a pleasant noise.

I also reported the issue months ago, but they were not able to fix it on my AMP.

Still living with the crackling noise, because I hope they fix it. The noise also can get quiet loud and is very unpleasant.

Could you please provide the ticket number so I can follow up on this issue with our team?

Thanks for the reply.

Ticket number: #501788

The ticket was opened 2 months ago and I tested with multiple Wiim AMP models all with PCB version 5.
All of them had the problems with the crackling noise between tracks, it can be quiet or really loud.
Would be pleased if the issue can be fixed, it's the only issue keeping me from loving my AMP.

Thank you for the update! If the firmware fixes the popping/clicking on Chromecast, that will resolve this big issue (really the only one that affects me most) on the two WiiM amps I have.

Hi VMoose22,

Could you please provide your ticket # so I can follow up with our team? Thank you for your patience!

Received the 5.0.622243 update which includes Pop Noise fixes.

Feedback:
- I can confirm that with Airplay, the Pop Noise issues seem fixed
- With Chromecast, I still hear very audible Pop Noise issues with 16-bit/44.1 kHz or 16-bit/48 kHz tracks (FLAC)

Hope the Pop Noise issues with Chromecast will also be fixed in a future version.
Thanks so much for making progress.

My original ticket from a month ago is: 505176

I submitted more feedback as I am also still getting pops/clicks with YouTube Music while using Chromecast built-in.

Does the pop noise happen during silence between tracks?

Oddly enough, when I Chromecast YTM with my WiiM amp there is no pop noise.

I only seem to get the pops when I manually change tracks. If there is a queue allowed to play, no pops as far as I can tell.
