Just to be sure... when you refer to WiiM Voiceremote 2 you're talking about this one:

Yes, the official name is "WiiM Voice Remote 2"

My Ultra did not work..
It is possible that there were too many remotes and I was confused

OK, I paired my WiiM Voice Remote (reported as version 53) with my WiiM Amp Ultra and my WiiM Voice Remote 2 (reported as version 39) to my WiiM Amp Pro. The results are very obvious.

Presets 5 to 8 are available using the WiiM Voice Remote 2 paired to either the WiiM Amp Pro or paired to the WiiM Amp Ultra.
Presets 5 to 8 are not available using the WiiM Voice Remote paired to either the WiiM Amp Pro or the WiiM Amp Ultra.

So, at least as of now, the new remote makes the difference.

Seems like the remotes are on different firmwares? My remote 2 is also on version 39 and I have a pair of remote 1s on 53

As they keep shipping the standard remote with their more premium products like the Ultra and Amp (Pro), I'd expect/hope there will be a firmware update to add this feature. It would be a shame to force people to upgrade and have the perfectly fine - albeit somewhat boring - plastic remote end up in the drawer.

We are testing preset 5~8 on the remote 1 now. It will be released when the QA is complete. Please stay tuned!

Yes, you are right, my Ultra was in beta. When I reverted to the latest firmware, everything worked fine. And for some reason Amp and Amp pro started working fine too.

That would invalidate half the comments where members are trying to see if it works on the first gen remote too. I’m fine with the subject line as it stands
