Pro Plus and Yamaha AS301 optical

Hi all, my amp died so I’ve ordered another budget amp. The Yamaha AS301. Wondering if I should connect my Pro Plus via optical or stick with the analog? Not sure how the DAC stacks up. Thanks!

I have the as501 which I'm fairly sure shares the same dac as the 301. It's a pretty nice sounding dac to me, but I'd be surprised if the pro plus dac didn't sound a bit better. But as Burnside has said, it will be easy for you to try both and form your own view.
