Qobuz Qobuz Connect released

I experienced a small problem with QC streaming via Wifi on my Honor Android tablet. Sometimes, and randomly, the music stops and resumes after two or three seconds of silence. Not very often, but it happens and it's a bit annoying. I have a fiber line and have never had a lack of connection.
Does this happen to anyone else? I have also opened a ticket

Do you ever experience this when using a different device as the controller?

Exactly. Unlike the apps, it’s possible to write chrome extensions to customize the web app to add features such as AI integration.

For example, there are many albums on Qobuz with no reviews at all, and there are no links to external reviews. With a Chrome extension and Gemini AI, we can add both...

I'm not seeing any Gemini content render on the Credits pop-up. Is that not yet slipstreamed into the extension?

I spent all yesterday evening steaming high resolution music from the Qobuz app on my iPad Pro via Qobuz Connect to the WiiM Pro. Not a glitch and it sounded excellent. One thing I’m not clear about is the relative pros and cons of using the Qobuz app vs the WiiM app, can anyone help?

For me, the main advantage of Qobuz Connect is that I only need to know this one app. No matter whether I'm on the move, for example with headphones on an airplane or at home. Everything always works the same. Even though the WiiM app is good, I find the Qobuz app better for listening to music and searching.
My wife wouldn't understand why she has to use a different app to listen to music at home than when she's out and about. She has never seen WiiM app, instead used Chromecast before QC.

QC is a great feature!

Thanks for the feedback. I tend to use album booklets as I listen mostly to classical music, so being able to cast directly from the Qobuz app is a real bonus. I’ve just signed up to the Roon 3 months for $10 deal though, so will see how things are at the end of that. Roon plays very nicely with the WiiM Pro.

Wondering when it's available on the regular playstore
I think Qobuz have said it’s being gradually rolled out, maybe initially to beta testers then members of the Qobuz Club, but I’m sure they’ll ramp up release as quickly as they can. I think the formal launch (rather than this “soft” launch) will happened at the Munich High End show so I’d expect wider availability by then.

I just got the Wiim Ultra and got Qobuz connect today. My system is using the Wiim for a steamer and it's pass thru. I'm using the DAC in my anthem AVM90. Then it goes to a parasound A51 to sonus faber sonetto VIII. Before today I was using the Wiim mini with optical and tidal connect. Today I'm using the Wiim Ultra with coax and Qobuz connect.
It's drastically better. Even when using tidal connect it's better. But the Qobuz connect is great like the person said above. All in all I don't need the ultra but it's helped open up my system even more that I expected

Connect iOS to WiiM Pro had a couple of short hiccups playing a long album with many tracks. An example was this track a few seconds into the playback:

An update -- just noticed that Play Store just updated my Android phone from Qobuz Connect v. 9.0.0.0 to v. 9.0.0.1. This happened this evening. I'd withdrawn from the beta test option yesterday.

One more comment -- after using Connect for a couple of days, I think the oddest deficiency is the extra step needed to reach the volume slider. The screen that shows the album cover lets you play/pause and go forward/back or even adjust where you are in a track, but you can't adjust the volume until you select the "device" screen. Easily and quickly adjusting volume is a high priority for me. The other oddity is that the device screen is often very slow to populate.

I understand that some people like the ability to play music from their Qobuz subscription on someone else's stereo. That might be a nice feature at a stereo store if they had compatible equipment available, but it has been several years since I've done that and the last time I simply bought in a USB stick that had thousands of my favorite tracks on it. I still prefer the Wiim or LMS apps for selecting and playing music on my home stereo, though I am happy for Qobuz that they've finally officially released the app they've been working on for several years now.
