Qobuz Qobuz Connect released

@adias and @iPat,
The following solution from the Wiim Support team has worked for me just now:

Please open the WiiM Home app > Device Settings > Network Status, and check the Preferred DNS Server setting:
If it is enabled, try turning it off.
If it is disabled, try turning it on.

I turned my Preferred DNS Server off, and all seems to be connecting as expected.

@WiiM Team: Have you looked into tracks suddenly stop playing and skipping to the following track? I have experienced this multiple times - iOS app and Ultra.
Hi @adias ,

Sorry for the inconvenience!
Please help us investigate this issue by sending feedback through the WiiM Home app at the time it occurs. Our engineering team will review it promptly upon receipt.

Just a "-" but not isolated. I renamed it without any special or isolated characters.
Solution below though, via Customer Support from my Support Request Ticket:
Just wanted to note that the renaming of my WiiM Pro also resolved the issue I ran into too.

Now I can run QC from any IOS device without having to keep the Mac OS Qobuz application open once again.

Wow, that is surely interesting and WiiM may want to make this a sticky. Could not understand how I ran into this oddity but now it's fixed. So be careful folks on naming your WiiM device. Do NOT use any special characters at all, only letters.

The community curators are WiiM’s stickies ;)

And only letters used in the English language. Letters used in other languages are considered special characters.

I’d really like this to work! All the tracks start but then skip to the next one with no sound coming from the speakers. Sometimes I get an “unable to play track…” error message. I’d love a step by step instruction guide.

FWIW, some time back and because of weirdness with Google Cast and Assistant, I converted the names of a bunch of things in our environment -- including audio devices -- to single words (concatenated when necessary), which solved and perhaps prevented some problems.

Sounds like you and @adias are experiencing a similar, if not identical issue. Definitely keep reporting it to WiiM and Qobuz whenever it occurs!

I will send feedback to WiiM as soon as it happens again. I thought that was a Qobuz issue and have reported it to them several tomes without any reply. :(

mixed success here: toggled pref DNS server on/off , logged out/in Qobuz several times on all Mac OS and iOS devices,
next: switched OFF pref DNS & Ipv6 in Home app:
good: Qobuz is now playing in Home app again , both CD & hires, both in Mac OS and iOS, as before
Qobuz CONNECT 'up to 24-192': no change, connects fine to WiiM PP in 5 secs, plays up to 10 secs without sound and moves on to another song and again and again displaying 'Impossible to play song 'xxxx' because an error occurred. Switching Qobuz app to output to iPhone iso WiiM and all is fine again....
reduced coax to 24/96 makes no difference
private wifi is temp off but not the cause
switching IPv6 on/off in ASUS doesn’t help

good: UPnP with MConnect, JPLAY Audirvana all fine
good: ChromeCast to WiiM and LG Tv etc works fine (WiiM Home shows 'WiiM Pro Plus Google Cast up to 24/96Khz')
latest WiiM firmware, Home app, latest iOS, Mac OS, latest Qobuz 901bxxxxx100

update: Q C is now saying "Q C is currently unavailable. Try again later or continue playing on this device" when WiiM Home has IPv6 and Pref DNS set ON ????? There is a correlation somehow it appears
switching off preferred DNS and IPv6

out of ideas at my end..

Did you submit a ticket after these tests so that WiiM can inspect your logs for what might be causing this?

I've been using Qobuz Connect with my Ultra and Pro for a few weeks. It's been working great with no issues to report. I also have an Eversolo DMP-A6 streamer and the Qobuz Connect implementation is not going as well IMO. Intermittent pause/stutter when a new track starts and a few other issues. WiiM has it all over Eversolo as far as support and firmware updates.

Maybe you already know this…

For those also using an iPad as a music source… if you start Qobuz on an iPad (say, connected to a DAC) playing a stream, you can then use an iPhone, in the same WiFi LAN, to remotely control the stream on the iPad, as the iPad is seen on the iPhone as a Qobuz Connect node. Pretty nifty and convenient.

And PC, or any mix of the previous o/s flavours

Indeed it does. Great design, allowing a portable device (phone) to be used as a fully-featured remote control for whatever destination node. It only requires starting that node first. Very well done!
