I see. So in effect you have the speakers and the sub wired in parallel to the WiiM Pro outputs. With passive monitor controller witch have volume control. It has 2 outputs, one is Genelec, the other is Subwoofer.
If it sounds good, it is good.Yes, I have connected them in parallel. Moving the Subwoofer affects its delay. SB-2000, not pro version. They sound good. Later I can post measurements of the frequency response.![]()
To be honest, from raw performance perspective your existing SVS SB-2000 (12" driver, -3dB at 19Hz) should actually be a better sub than the Genelec 7050 (8.5" driver, -6dB at 24Hz).View attachment 34721No need for a separate subwoofer output from WiiM![]()
I was thinking this same thing as well--integration is all well and good, but at the end of the day, the outright performance of the unit is what matters most with bass and, "real subs," are in a completely different league from that Genelec. To be honest, from raw performance perspective your existing SVS SB-2000 (12" driver, -3dB at 19Hz) should actually be a better sub than the Genelec 7050 (8.5" driver, -6dB at 24Hz).
Note that your SVS SB-2000 (non-Pro) also has a built-in high pass filter (12dB/oct at 80Hz) on the line outputs. The Genelec 7050 has a built-in high pass filter at 85Hz on the line outs.
You can still use the phase control of the sub to tweak the integration.Yes, I have connected them in parallel. Moving the Subwoofer affects its delay. SB-2000, not pro version. They sound good. Later I can post measurements of the frequency response.![]()
The subwoofer level is high relative to the speaker level, yes - though RoomFit is taking care of the level mismatch so you could just leave it as is.View attachment 34733
Some measurement. The subwoofer volume is about 3/10 in that measurement. Do I understand correctly if I still need to lower the subwoofer volume? The 8030 are the old A models, so they also have their own volume control.I'll have to look into it a bit more later. Thanks for the help.
