Room Correction... I like it!

With AP 3.01 RC didn't work for me anymore... I reported it to WiiM from AP and they replied that they had checked and a bug had emerged that they would fix with the next AP update... 2 days later "3.0.2" was released... everything fixed thanks WiiM...

There’s no 3.0.2

Just thought I would show my results from room EQ using WiiM Ultra correction on my Android with an external UMIK-1.
I then used REW on my PC to measure the before and after results.
The blue is the before and shows the room nodes very clearly.
The green is with the WiiM PEQ applied and shows that the WiiM has done a pretty good job in taming the two bad peaks .
I only EQ'ed up to about 500Hz. Notice that is does not get rid of the dip at 90Hz which will be by design I think.
Early days and will play around some more soon but I am pretty impressed.
My main question is that if you don't use an external mic like the UMIK then god only knows how flat the one in a typical android phone might be (not so bad for Apple phones I guess). That would seem like a lottery.

You could answer this question for your own phone's mic, at least. :)

Just repeat the room correction with the built-in mic and see how the REW measurement with the UMIK-1 changes.

Stupid question, sorry, but... how do you connect an external mic to an Android phone that has no mic input?

There are two versions of this microphone. The one with the letter "C" is USB.

I have the analog version of this mic and use it with apple 3.5mm to usb c adapter. I wonder if for example this cheap mic is better than the mic in iphone 15? Does it make sense to use it in my case?

Dayton is definitely much more accurate than the phone microphone. I just don't know how much of an Apple adapter it is. My Dayton usb-c works great. It is calibrated and in combination with HouseCurve gives very good results.

In the case of iOS does it make sense of buying a umic 1 with tripod ? Are the results better than using Dayton or internal iPhone mic ?

I have an iphone, but no external mic.
My results are consistent and make sense.
So I am not sure if it‘s worth it…
